I moved here from Illinois and was very sad to see this happen in this area.. My first question was, "It doesn't look like the people inside the home are retirement age, are they?"
Thanks everyone for bringing this topic to the forum..

Does anyone realize how high the crime rate is in TV? Are you really shocked about a meth lab being busted here. Assaults, muggings, burglaries, all a part of living in TV

Two of my friends' moms had early onset Alzheimers at age 50.
So, yes it does happen. Both ultimately ended up in long term care facilities at a very young age (considering that by then they were in their late 50's).

Others we know were 60.....went fast. Diagnosed young.

Many more we know were in their 80's when diagnosed; lived a decade.
Passed in their 90's. Ultimately all end up in skilled nursing home for the middle and end stage alzheimers.

With some, in the early stage, they retain their social skills but are a bit forgetful. It's a very very very long slow journey to the end.

Some have Sundowner's Syndrome where they may seem o.k. during the day........but wander at night......and may even leave the home and get lost.

Once they feel secure with a caregiver, usually a daughter, they relax more when they no longer have to "think" or "decide"........and others may not even be aware of their confusion..........except for those they live with.

However, NO ONE is ever prepared for that middle and end stage.
It is so sad to watch a loved one go through it.

Check out this article posted on CNN:

My home was a former meth lab - Feb. 12, 2013

Also check the map attached to the article. It appear that there are a lot of "labs" in Central Florida. Must be a lot of Chemical Engineers in the area!

Those two in the mug shots were definitely NOT chemical engineers.
We live next door here to a chemical engineer who we've been friends with for well over 35 years.........a very conservative straight laced guy.

WE are also fans of BREAKING BAD with Walter the chemistry teacher turned meth lab drug kingpin.........got hooked on it, however, do not condone that lifestyle at all, period.
