We don't go to the pools very often either, but our ID's are usually checked and I have no problem with that. I don't want outsiders using our facilities. That's what we pay for. Why should they get to use our amenities without paying. They can use our squares, shops and restaurants because they pay as they go.

I agree with the pools and other facilities. However the squares, restaurants and the shops are not Villager's property. They are commercially owned by the developer. I thank Mr. Mores for providing the infrastructure to entice these businesses to come to the area. It has added jobs for those that originally lived in the area. A much need improvement.

I can't imagine why you would refuse to show your village ID at a place that is supposed to be used by ONLY villages residents and their guests with an ID. Without rummaging through my paperwork, I am certain that it IS written that we have to have our ID at these times. If someone is asked for ID and don't have it, I find it highly unlikely that the sheriff would be called. You would simply be asked to go home and get it.

Yay....boy howdy is right......

So if "I" came up to you and wanted to see your ID, you would show it to me?

How do you know who is authorized to ask for ID. I know the sheriff is!

What does the sheriff have to do with this?

If I was at the pool and a person with a Villages nametag on their shirt is checking Village ID cards, I would assume she is authorized to see it. I have seen it happen many times. However, I have never seen the sheriff come into the pool area to check Village ID cards. Have you?

If you came up to me and asked in a friendly way to look at my Villages ID card for a reason, I would have no problem in showing it to you. You show me yours, I will show you mine?

Haven't you ever gone into one of the Rec. Centers for any club meeting or activity and had to show your ID card to the Rec Center attendant to scan into their handheld scanner? What is the difference between that and the swimming pools?

There you go...a PROPERLY identified villages employee checking ID's.....a no brainer

A non-employee, or an unidentified person asking for ID's, my comment would be-----"GET LOST"

Come to think of it, I have never been asked at our pool, for ID.
Not by the Villages employees
Not by the Sheriff
Not even by Elvis or Mary Poppins

Elvis I might show it to.:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

Not from you GG. Just your presence would improve on the look.

.

Come on by Buggy, I just cracked the first one one for the day. Visitors with Bud Light are issued an annual gate pass.

A friend of mine said I'd be surprised at how many OUTSIDERS are playing pickel ball with them...also VILLAGERS are guilty of getting guest passes for their OUTSIDER friends, the friends use their northern address while their here;. go to Katie Bells on any given night and see the same OS dancing, not counting real guests from up north, while residents stand in line waiting for a table. They will continue to use our dime unless REC. DEPT. can come up with a better plan. ALRALR

Why doesn't your friend do something about it??
How do you identify these "outsiders" at Katie Bells??

Our house is a rental. We have turned in our ID's and send a check for the 2 Resident ID's when a guest is using the house. I email the guests instructions on how to obtain the ID's. I just got off the phone with the guest using the house. They went to the pool and were asked for their ID's and the guests had not picked them up.

I'm not sure what pool they went to, but the ID's were being checked today. This was a discussion on this thread and I can confirm that the ID's are being checked in at least one pool.
