Default Pop Up

Ever since I got a new computer, whenever I open TOTV I keep getting a pop up to install Adobe Flash Player. What is this?

The Adobe Flash Player is software for viewing animations and movies using computer programs such as a web browser. If you are new to computers, you'll find that this is required for many web browers. You can read more about it here:

Download it. It won't hurt a thing and will make your browsing more enjoyable. The pop-up for that application will stop too.

You will need Flash Player at many websites. In fact, there are three Adobe programs that you should have.

Go to www.adobe.com and, one at a time, install Flash Player, Shockwave Player and Reader. By doing this, you will install the current versions. You can not assume that your new computer has the current versions.

Important Note: When you install these programs, each will ask you if you want to install additional software, such as McAfee Security Scan or something else. Clear the check box if you don't want it. These are legitimate programs, but you probably don't need them.
