Like I said before Gracie, take the $50 and donate it to the local Fire and Rescue.

Help this blonde see how this has changed the ownership of the Sun? I called the person who I had spoken to before who is a veteran reporter before I bet you, since I am so, um, thrifty.

I told her that you said there would be a change and she said there would not be a change.

Drop the booties.

The Registered Agent is just the person who receives official paperwork and such for any FL corporation. www.sunbiz.org - Home

I could not find anything definitive about just who actually owns the Villages Daily Sun. The papers actually filed look very vague. They name only a lawyer and Philip Markward but allow for other stockholders.

Blondie, the new listing with the State is the proof. Cough it up.

He is also the only officer. I know what a registered agent is thank you. I also know what a Director is but did you note the date of a filing for company name?

If you look at the Articles of Incorporation filed with the State under Philip Markward you see that since he is the only person on the board and the filings give him quite a bit of power to alter the board, who knows what is actually going on here? http://ccfcorp.dos.state.fl.us/

I did note the date and the name of the corporation.

OK Gracie, I'm not sitting here and quarreling with your cronies over this. Your source was wrong, there is a new name for the company that operates the Sun filed with the State. Good enough for me but not you, so be it. I'm not taking your bait anymore.

All I am saying is that the vagueness of the Articles of Incorporation could mask just who owns the Villages' paper. Philip Markward is the only stockholder named but the Articles give him the power as Sole Director to bring in the usual suspects of the various past owners of Villages' entities as additional Directors/Stockholders. It just looks like business as usual in the Villages. Check the other filings for Philip Markward.

Try looking up "The Villages" in the Wikipedia and scan down to "Developer-controlled Media". Notice the parenthetical statement on that line.

It also states WVLG being owned by "the developer (or their descendants)" which is correct since Harold's great grandchildren now own the radio station, not The Villages of Lake-Sumter, Inc.

Skip

It looks like The Villages of Lake-Sumter, Inc. is the developer, his family, friends and business partners.

There could be more information coming though.

From today's paper, it looks like the publisher is still The Villages of Lake-Sumter, Inc.

You had no way of knowing this but be careful with slinging the Mother thing around. My Mother passed on Tuesday July 10th 2012. 92 years old and a saint. I'd post the link to her obituary for you so that maybe you would be able to figure that she is really dead but then you would know my real name and that is not what I want.

Oh Posh. I am so sorry.

I know that she must have been a wonderful person as apples never fall very far from the tree.

I know you must know I wouldn't have tried to be funny if I had known.

Hugs, Posh.

Then all is fair. If the correct outcome is every determined then the winner can claim the original bet.

Yes, this is the perfect solution! Bet it will turn out the biggest crowd in Square history.

And, um, it would be interesting to see how the Daily Sun covered the event. Not to mention WESH. ;)
