Default A Positive Thread

I propose we set one thread aside to post the positive side of this trying situation we are in. People are sewing face masks, volunteering to check neighbors, willing to give away stimulus checks, business being creative with senior and healthcare hours, etc. Here is a small but touching one I experienced with a delivery pizza. Please contribute you experiences for a brighter day.

Sorry that the forum doesn't allow for more than one "thumbs up" click.

Ya got mine!

From other news source:

"Community Development District 1 Supervisor Craig Estep is offering his assistance to those currently and soon to be homebound by the Coronavirus. He’s offering his help in picking up pharmacy and food store orders placed by CDD1 residents who have been diagnosed with the virus or who have been required, for one reason or another, to be quarantined in their homes and have no one to help them get delivery of urgently needed food and pharmaceutical items."

I’m starting to see more acts of kindness and people expressing their appreciation for business being open and then, there’s the flip side of those that have become damn nasty, especially at WD, Publix and Walmart.

Love seeing people spread out on driveways, sharing time with close neighbors.

Saw one house with three golf carts pulled up to a screened lanai.

A lot of people lining up to watch sunsets all over TV.

Lot of walkers.

We continue to have "neighbor helping neighbor" in my village.

Thank you folks, there is a special place in heaven for all of you.

The son of a close friend from upstate NY is now home his own business shut down. His kids are home and being home schooled out of this. He is taking them out showing them how to get a slug out of a ? some sort of nut and use it as bait to catch a fish. They are building a fort in the backyard out of pallets but he is making the kids do the work. Yesterday he gave them a class on how to change a spare tire. How do you put a value on this ?

Ditto in Fenney - neighbors helping neighbors; folks getting exercise while maintaining social distancing; working in their yards - being as productive as possible. Great spirit from TV residents from all over our great country!!

I love how people are putting on their lights at 8 pm ... to "light the night" across the country, to let their neighbors know that we are all in this together. Here in TV, we always have our lampposts on, and many people have landscape lighting. What else can we do to show each other that we are all in this together?

FaceTiming family and friends. Played Yahtzee with Omaha grand kids. Actually have had more interaction with family during quarantine than before.

Donating tubs of food and $3400 to the Sozo kids in the Ocala National Forest was a pretty good gesture. Someone in Dunedin organized it and lots of people contributed.

We're only promised today---tomorrow isn't yet promised and yesterday is gone! Focusing outward to be helpers (albeit neighbors) to those around us will take our eyes off from ourselves. To focus on "what if's" just produces anxiety. I love all the comments here on what people are doing. LIFE may be a bit different but it's going to be fine if we ALL work together!

This reminds me why I love living in The Villages:

Lisa Beck - Sang out on my driveway for my neighbors. We...

Let's continue to inspire each other through these tough times!
