Don't think it would be similar, $154,000 up north would be tear down in bad area. No comparison. Sounds like 10 or 12 percent valuation.

Don't bet on it, unless you live here full time and are a Florida resident. If not taxes are fairly comparable to some Midwestern states.

If you don't like paying more taxes don't move into Marion county. Taxes are cheaper here BS, depending on where you came from.

I visited The Villages a few years ago and am hoping to retire there in four years.

I just can't believe that the property taxes would be lower than what I'm paying now and the amenity fees are only $145 per month (cheaper than a lot of retirement communities).

I'm guessing that it's due to the large number of people living there....Can't wait!!

are the property taxes payment based on the prior year of ownership or for the upcoming year . am guessing it is for the current year 2016 - 2017, but cant find anything that states this. it would affect the hud figures
