Oh yes, you do not encourage people to break the law but warn them about “speed traps?” If you speed, you can get stopped, simple.

Typical speed is 65 to 70 on route 44 all the way from the turnpike down to Leesburg until it gets to 45 mph limits and even then people do 55. I really see the police doing enforcement and there have been some bad accidents. It's it's delivery people, the lawn service as well as regular passenger cars.

The speed enforcement that is done throughout the villages and Lake county does have an effect on slowing traffic down has very simply you have written about it and hundreds of people now will think about going a little slower. Of course we still have crazy people out there and you have to be careful

Only 10 mph over the limit give me an extra 50 - 100 ft stopping distance required. Think about that. Coupled with the extra half second or second due to senior citizen driving is in the difference between an accident and not an accident

The "public service" is what the officers are doing, not the announcement.

the golf carts should also be ticketed for speeding....they go way over the limit of 20 mph

If you are driving 10 - 15mph over the speed limit, you are intentionally breaking the law. If caught, you deserve whatever comes your way. Period.

Amen.
And while the officers are out there, maybe they will catch some of the illegal golf cart drivers on the main roads in and around our community. Big safety problem: speed & confused drivers. Be safe out there!

I am happy to hear this. There are so many people in too much of a hurry. Why? 5 miles over the limit is normally overlooked but 10 or more is a safety hazard to our community, especially on the roadways with walkers, cyclists and golf carts sharing the road. No need to drive that fast.

I wish there were a few more speed enforcement areas. Many people drive very fast on Marsh Bend Trail it is dangerous and nerve wracking. Slow down folks, please.

They are setting up right before the circle where the motorcycle rider went through it and died this past summer. In this case, they are responding to that accident and several others from 301 to 501 on Warm Springs.

To the OP, a police presence in known speeding areas is not a speed trap, it's good police work. Shame on you for giving speeders a heads up.
