Calm down and take a few deep breaths. Relax and enjoy that we get to live where many can only dream of living. Don't want to upset anyone, but i kind of see where the younger generation is getting their need for instant gratification.

As far as being close....there are two Publix on 441. One is in that strip mall near the hospital across from Lowe's. The other one is in the strip mall in Spanish Springs....not that far apart plus both are good sized stores! They "need" to build something on the south end as Colony is crazy busy! Drive past during the day...the parking lot is jammed/full. Also Walgreens on that end as well needs some help by having a CVS nearby.

Someone told me a new Walgreems is in the works probably closer to 44:MOJE_whot:

Your in a large housing build up there are many through out the u.s. , you have stores to shop in within the area stop complain you surely knew what you were getting into. As for calling local stores dump that is making friend and getting along with the local people. Many people shopped in the leesburg store before 466 was build.
Just the other day you posted that you had to park your golf cart way over by the golf store to get to publix, what a great walk

Good post!

I lived in NY (Staten Island/Brooklyn) and we travelled to get to stores......Walmart, the closest to the NY area is in Woodbridge NJ......and there is a $6.oo toll involved........Bless The Villages where we can take our golf carts and enjoy the ride. I shop at Southern Trace & Colony and love the 11 and 12 minute trips.

Target would be an instant success in the southern end, too. Lots of us want to avoid Walmart no matter how conveniently located they are.

I don't have a problem with Colony Publix, sure it can be a little crowded, but I have never had a problem finding parking. The workers there are great, really keep things moving.

Please, NO MORE WALMARTS, just the thought of going to one gives me an anxiety attack. Shopping carts of ill behaved children chirping like dolphins-I pass.

Some place that serves breakfast all day would be a good thing.

Every one of these are in the villages somewhere...Maybe not across the street from where you live but there ....

I will say that you can't hardly beat the chain resataraunts for quality and consistancy and price...I love olive garden and red lobster ,out back and restaraunts like this....They never let me down no matter where they are located....

When we moved to Hemingway Publix seemed deserted. I agree that now it is crowded but be patient and more markets will start popping up.

Think about all the places you've lived over the years - was there always a grocery store just 3 minutes away? Was your favorite restaurant right down the street?

If it takes you two hours to find a parking spot and shop at Publix you must be circling for that perfect spot and really buying a lot of groceries.

lLiving in the NY suburbs, I drove 12 miles to work every day. From there, 3 miles to supermarket. Then 15 miles home. I could buy milk at the nearby CVS, but not bread or fresh fruit. The Big Box stores were 20 miles away, as well as Bloomingdales etc.
If you get up and go to Publix at 8 in the morning it is empty.

for those who do not like the wait at Walgreens in the Colony Plaza, there is a CVS on 44, not 5 min away from Brownwood.

So true. Where I lived, I had an unbelievably great ride of 3 minutes into "town" but still had to drive 20 minutes to a Walmart, Target, Costco or a "chain store" or a chain restaurant. I was so amazed to see how much was within a 10 minute drive here from any point in TV. I am actually one of the ones who would like them to forego making 466A a duplicate of 466 leaving it to be a bit of rural beauty and a reality check that you are in Florida and not the TV bubble :)...hoping development will all take place down on the other side of Bwood but it looks like that is not going to happen.

I didn't grow up in NY but virtually the same story. It amazes me that we have such a variety of shops and eatery's all with in 5 miles no matter where you live in TV

The best store in my opinion that we have here in the villages,is Wal-Mart. They have everything that you need.

If you can tolerate shopping there!

:posting: This will bring some "thoughts". It appears that TOTV is about equally divided on Wal-Mart. If you live on the south end of TV, it is certainly not convenient to shop there. Personally, I'm not "crazy" about their food store.
