Not a hill I will die on, lowest cost ISP vs advertising ethics, I will still take the lowest cost at this point in my life. sign me up. However, if you want to fight their ethics be my guest, just don't be upset if you end up paying more afterwards. . . |

Last night I was watching some Youtube on TV and lo and behold, what a surprise, an advertisement for Quantum fiber Internet. AND, AND they promised same price FOR LIFE again. Someone said they had discontinued their false advertising, but apparently they haven't. AND I just received my receipt for my auto payment to Quantum for $40, which is ten bucks more than last month. Still cheaper than other providers, AND still better, reliable service. Still, I just don't like being lied to.

I can understand a Price For Life that is good until the customer selects a new product (though even then this company is known for deceptive practices), but a Price For Life that is only good until the company chooses to discontinue the product and charge you more is no guarantee at all. |
I just got the same $10 increase notification. Their website still states $50 price for life; “ Keep your internet service monthly rate for as long as you keep your plan.”
So I called and the first idiot I talked to said rate increase was to cover infrastructure improvements and cost increases. He even tried to send me a form to see if I qualified for the low income government help program. Finally hung up on him and called again. Got a gal that understood and got me a permanent $10 loyal customer monthly discount to offset increase. Be persistent! |

The same company that promised $50 for life just gave you a permanent $10 discount? |
