Default Radiant Barrier

I would appreciate information from anyone that has had radiant barrier installed on a designer (Wisteria or similar) home with a gable roof. Looking for positive or negative comments as to it actually reducing the attic temperature. Is it really worth the cost?

I see ads in the paper for radiant barrier installed for SECO customers for $0.75 per sq. foot. I too question if it is really worth the cost?
