If it wasn't for the television, we wouldn't know a storm was near. We've had our normal rain; it's been a little breezy at times. Fay is making a circle around us and leaving us alone.

Except for the teens showing up in various places-- like Fruitland Park Public Library-- and closings you would not be able to tell that a storm is even nearby.

They did cancel the evening entertainment of the two town squares last night.

Yes, we've been lucky so far but this storm is moving very slowly and seems to be anchored off the central coast. It is projected to pick up speed and wind and move over the center of the state towards the panhandle and we can expect some measurable rain soon.

I have a dog with a uncanny desire to go out when it rains. And that is what it has been doing this afternoon. Between the wind and the rain I have gone through three pair of shoes and five towels (for him). I wear my yellow slicker and hat.

If you are in Springdale please do not shoot the 500 lb canary out in the yard with a dog kite.

Suggest the canary take the dog out without the kite. Remember the fellow who chose to go out in a tropical storm wearing a kite and was picked up and went flying across the road....

Sidney, I think the dog was the kite at the end of the leash...

The news just said we should get another 6-12 inches of rain tomorrow.

Sorry Sidney. I was trying to be funny. The wind was so strong that I thought that Bart was going to go off like Toto. Bart even hunkered down so he would not go anywhere.

I am wondering if anyone has been out and about in TV's this morning?
Flooded roads, downed trees, etc.?
Sounds like rain and wind gusts will continue today............

Never thought I would want one of those Light Therapy lamps here in Paradise! :dontknow:

I've been doing some housechecking from Santo Domingo down BV to Poinciana, Hadley and then up Morse. Some relatively deep wet spots on the side of the roads on BV and Morse but nothing major so far. Have to go to the historic side shortly. Will report if any streets really flooded on my rounds.

I'm getting cabin fever, itching to go weeding (getting really behind due to Fay). I know, that sounds demented.

On the plus side, I feel like I'm back in NoCal except it's the wrong time of the year -- this is January COLD rain, not September summer WARM.
