There is a positive side to Bassman's rant. Every cloud has a silver lining.

We have some guests that were motivated to register to become members. I hope we continue to hear from them.

Yes he motivated me, I just dont understand why come into the totv and proclaim the ones that are members are not connected to The Villages. They live at the Villages and how wonderful of each of them to feel so good about their community to say hey I will share my thoughts . I wouldnt go to a movie and hate it then go back and see it again.

I had always seen the commercials for The Villages on TV but wanted real people feedback..so I have read TOTV for a long time...One day it clicked, these are people who became neighbors and love where they are. To top it off they want everyone else to have that good feeling. :pepper2:

Troll, risking being crass, we know what this site is as a place for us to talk about TV, and is not connected to them. To keep it free for us to use they have to sell add space, that is the way it works. So buddy, "No Sh@T!!, go lurk on another site where maybe you can have a life!

This site is fantastic for the role it fills and has been instrumental in me and my wife's research both before and after we bought. It allowed us to see both the good and bad, and then suggestions to make TV better!

First, I am not aiming this post at Pturner, only using a part of her post to try to make my point.

Second, I mainly read to get information here and don't post that often. I am very thankful to have a site that contains so much valuable information for us Villagers and if the administrator's make a profit then I applaud that.

Third, by no means am I supporting Bassman's post. However...as I read replies to Bassman's comments, I was disappointed to read the rude and disrespectful replies. To me, those posts were as rude and disrespectful as his and made you just as guilty as what he was accused of.

I felt compelled to write this because I don't think his post deserved to take up 4 pages of primarily negative unbecoming retorts that were possibly classified as "ban"able due to rudeness and disrespect.

Just my opinion and sure hope this doesn't get you all mad at me.

I believe Assman has made his point. Here we have 4 pages of replies, all about him. Very stupid but very effective.

We really appreciate the support that has been shown here. Our disgruntled poster has a pretty clear picture of how the majority of our members feel.

This thread is the same as when a neighborhood rallies around a neighbor that has been attacked. The attackee is grateful for the care and concern shown by the neighbors and friends.

Couldn't disagree with you any more than I do. In fact the original poster would want you to not use this site since he/she is mad at the moderators. But, in fact, he/she has generated hundreds of more hits to the site.

In real estate it is Location, Location, Location.

on the web it is page views, page views, page views!

I know that moderators of other sites will even pose as trolls just to generate views. (But I think this troll is real:) )

Just a thought. I see bassman has a gripe with this site. But I don't see any talk of banishment from the moderator. Yet I know of posters being banned for other gripes. Lets be fair if there are rules against griping let it be one rule. Don't pick and choice who gets banned. So I think the moderator should email former member to offer them a chance to return here if they like. People are only expressing opions here you don't have to agree

I think, if you re-read Bassman's post, you'll see that Bassman was banned on the day of his post. That post was not what got him banned.

Will you folks quit falling for this stuff. Someone sends a despariging note and you all jump on him/her. They love it. Quit sending notes. Its called "baiting" and that's probably the reason he calls himself "Bassman". Geeeeeez!
