Best of luck to you. I can certainly understand - I am still adjusting myself.
I am curious to learn what state you chose.

You have to admit the POA has the rep of being the negative voice here. I'm not saying their purpose/voice isn't warranted in some cases but it would be nice to read some positive feedback from them.

Or...is their purpose to only capitalize on the negative? Don't pounce on me please, that is an honest question that I really don't know the answer, ok?

God Bless you all.

I wish you the best of luck in your retirement choice. Florida is very humid in the summer. My wife and I considered just spending the winter in Florida but I really don't want the cost and the hassle of maintaining two different homes.

Let us know where you wind up going to.

Bright..... You've heard the expression, "The squeaky wheel gets the grease." Unfortunately, the only way to get it fixed is to "squeak."

When one is supporting a cause, how can one be anything other than negative over things that are ignored that need fixing?

Kahuna's last comment re POA was merely high-school mentality. Am surprised that a man of his stature would stoop so low.

I don't consider anyone's opinions as "high school mentality" and I am disappointed you added: "Am surprised that a man of his stature would stoop so low."

The problem here in the forum is if someone doesn't agree with another's opinion, they are put down and called names as you did with "high school mentality"...and referring to someone's stature of stooping low.

I believe everyone has a right to voice their own opinions and those opinions should be honored whether one agrees or not...without name calling.

It's just a matter of respect.

Please don't take my post wrong...I believe we all need to be more accepting of other's viewpoints and not make negative judgements.

This has nothing to do with whether or not I agree with you or anyone else.

...and you don't call what Kahuna said about the POA a negative judgement? One of his many negative judgements about the POA. I most certainly would NOT consider his comment about the POA as positive. And you can overlook what he said and feel the need to take issue with me?

Sorry you feel that way, Bright. I found his comment to be a put down on something I strongly believe in, and his glib remark about the POA was totally uncalled for. He can voice his negative opinion to issues, however, when he consistently insults an organization who is ALWAYS there to help people, that's a put down and high school mentality. In fact, I thought of a few choice expletives about him that wouldn't fly here,

He's voicing his negative opinion and so am I, except we are not on the same team. Sorry that you obviously defend his insults, and the need to comment on my opinion.

His calling the POA "grumps" is not name-calling?

Well said, Bright, :agree:

It would make this forum so much more interesting and informative if we all could listen to everyones opinion and follow up with our own, without the jibes and criticism. To often the negative comments overtake and dilute any real discussion.

Am I missing a post? I went through all of the posts and I did not even see a Kahuna post. How can he dis the POA if there is no post?

Re: Reasons for moving out of TV

This is exactly what I was talking about, Barb...differences of opinions offending others...and obviously you cannot be open enough to just accept an opinion and let it go...I'm so sorry for you.

I was not taking sides...not at all

I was voicing my opinion about others taking offense to opposite viewpoints.

I am disappointed you cannot accept an opposing view...doesn't matter if you agree or not...it's just accepting it and going on with your life.

I accept an opposing viewpoint. I take offense to disrespectful name-calling is what this is all about, and as you pointed out. He was disrespectful in referring to the POA as "grumps." We will agree to disagree and I most certainly will not lose sleep over this. Am so disappointed in your need to criticize my feelings.

Re: Reasons for moving out of TV

Sorry. Kahuna's insignificant comment was on 6/24. It is now 7/10. I thought there was an issue presented.

I don't think we can dis the POA. Regardless of their beating some topics to death, I think that they are a voice for the Villagers. The Daily Sun is the happy news. The letters to the Editor are god bless the Villages or :edit: the democrats. Does anyone think that the Daily Sun will print a Letter to the Editor that tells you how bad the ER room was at TVRH. I sent a poem about golf requests that they would not print because it was not to their standards (read not TV happy).

For all of the Villagers that pick up the POA bulletin and toss it without reading it, shame on you. There is some interesting information in there.
