Yep! The same big gov't that takes that money away from you and makes you wait years and years and years to get it back!

Where does that big gov't intend to dispose of those batteries from electric bikes, scooters and cars, etc? And where are the windmill blades going to be disposed?

I know Batteries Plus (or whenever they are called now) takes my big batteries for my UPS (uninterrupted power supply) even though I bought these through Amazon. They may take other batteries.

your totally right !! what is the coat of a replacement battery for an EV,,,we have been led to believe that EV is the way to go but where will all of these EV batteries going to end up ?

These batteries can not go to a regular landfill....so imagine millions of these batteries need to be disposed of in the future.

A friend had to get a new battery for his vehicle and the cost was unbelievable...dont know if that was a special case or what they really cost

Silly question. They’re going to the same place as the solar panels.

I think they're going to go into peak plants, places where electricity can be stored until needed. It doesn't matter too much if only 1/3rd of the original energy can be stored, they just hook up all of the old car batteries and are ready for a heat wave, day with no wind, or rainy day. Say it with me...."Peak Plants!"

Sumpter Cty. has a Recyling event about 3 or 4 times a year at a location between Leesburg and Wildwood. You have to keep your eyes open for a notification as to when it will be held. They will take all kinds of batteries and etc. I was turned away at the one on Rolling Akers Rd. because I had a Sumpter Cty license plate a few years ago.

First it is Sumter county, and I just saw the news release they will NOT accept NON rechargeable batteries. It appears that your basic alkaline (single use) batteries are throw away items, very annoying.

More info on Sumter County recycling. I took lithium batteries and leftover paint there in April when it was at Okahumpa Park. Very well organized.

Sumter County has recycle day on Saturday. It is in Bushnell.

Battery Boys can recycle a large number of batteries - just not all.
 

Battery Boys, located in Oxford (across from Walmart on 466), will recycle a large number of batteries, just not all. Batteries can be dropped off M-F from 8AM to 5PM. If you have a large number of batteries pick up at your home can be arranged.

Batteries we can take; golf cart, standard automotive, RV, renewable energy, mobility scooter, back up systems. These can be flooded, AGM or GEL.

Batteries we cannot take; power tools, small electronic devices, computers, back up lighting. Basically no Alkaline, Lithium, lithium ion or nickel cad.

To be sure if we can accept them feel free to call our office at 352-643-1241 before making the trip. Some batteries have core value that could be worth a couple bucks to you as well.
