Default Reminder for those who need it:

If you happen to bring your family to one of the Villages rec center parks, oh let's just say, for example, the one with the exercise equipment - please take a moment to read the sign.

Sometimes, you might see that you have to be 13 years old or older to use the equipment.

This means - your 7 year old, 8 year old, and 6 year old - should not be using that equipment. You should not be helping them use it, you shouldn't be taking pictures of them using it.

The exercise machines are not swings, slides, or teetertotters for little kids. There ARE play areas for kids, and you absolutely should be made to feel welcome to bring them there. But this - is not one of them.

Good reminder, but are you saying you witnessed this? Are you also saying the exercise room staffer didn't do anything about it?

Also, children under 13 are not allowed in the dog parks, even when supervised (read the sign). I often see grandparents bringing small children into our dog parks and letting them literally run in the park around strange, unleashed dogs. And of course, these children will pet (and sometimes try to hug) every dog that comes up to them. It’s just amazing that people put children in harm’s way.

The post said “park”, not “Fitness Center”.

Totally agree! I've seen this happen at the Lake Miona outdoor exercise equipment.

Regarding pool table use for kids under 13, yes, I’ve seen where this is allowed by the rec center staff.

I believe the poster is discussing the OUTDOOR exercise equipment available at several centers. However, many of the Regional Rec Centers feature extra cost workout facilities.
