Interesting thread. Disagree with a lot of it. I have 2 rentals - Rentals never slowed down. I have had 1 month open since the beginning of Covid (December in one house, and I came down to enjoy it). I always deep clean between renters. Have a few months left this year, they will rent. Both rented Jan-April next year. I may have waited longer and got a little more, but there is a value to having money in the bank. I am hoping that with increased demand post covid and the fact there are less and less rentals every year north of 44, Rents will rise. Both my houses AVERAGE being rented 11 months a year, mainly because we reserve August for ourselves. I cashflow positive, but am mainly in the one for retirement, and the other for Appreciation and diversification. The investment has been wonderful.
