Thank you gate attendants for your pleasant greeting I do enjoy the brief expressions of pleasantries as I pass through.

I do acknowledge that you have a thankless job but an essential one. I appreciate and believe there is a need for gates

It is indeed troubling for you when there is more traffic at the gates than one can bear. This is especially true at Morse where through no fault of your own the designers believed or perhaps had no choice in merging cars and carts.

Thank you again and have a pleasant day

Personal Best Regards:

Question- the Del Mar Gate (leaving Spanish Springs town Sq) is now a manned gate.
There is no visitors lane, as it was always a "resident only gate from 20 yrs ago.
Do you think attendant should open gate for you if they are standing there watching
You swipe card or press button? Just an ongoing discussion in our car EVERY time we

Well said. My late friend from Doggie Doo Run Run Bill Davis was one of these gate attendants. I probably know others as well.

OK. Let's think about this. The left lane (visitor) continues straight onto the road after the gate. The right lane (resident) merges into the left lane after the gate. Now, we all know that when merging you must yield to any traffic in the lane that you are merging into. Therefore, it would seem that those entering the resident gate must yield to anyone entering the visitors gate. At least, that's what I do.

If you are behind the wheel, you are responsible to watch out for the other guy.

I haven't met a gatekeeper I didn't like.

Please signal when going over into a car lane when the golf cart lane ends and restarts.
Also folks the GOLF CARTS DO NOT have the right of way and i can't tell you how many times i have had to slam on my brakes to keep from killing someone!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also the GOLF CART PATHS going across a road in front of the gate houses; GOLF CART DO NOT have the right of way and i have had also to lock up my breaks to keep from killing someone.
Also the Idiots that sit in a gate lane waving golf carts through aren't using there head.
Due to the bushes walls etc.... the other car traveling through the gate sometimes can not see the other driver at the gate waving on the carts. I understand they are trying to be courteous BUT you may be waving on the GOLF CART TO THEIR DEATH!
Use your head Folks.

I should have given more credit to the attendant. They generally are pretty good. They are dealing with the same people as we are, just lots more of them.

I guess just some people have problems. I would never "almost" get sideswiped coming out of a gate, because I have a gas pedal, a brake, a steering wheel and adjust as needed. I see that a lot on here though, and I am always amused how many people almost died, or were almost killed from vehicles when avoiding an accident. Seems more theatrical, why weren't they "almost had a bruise on their arm" if they would have been in an accident?

I just go through the visitors gate from now on. Don't have to find my card or roll down my window. Being that gate has the right of way makes me feel like someone important:popcorn:

I would think that a driver that has to "slam" on the brakes and "lock up" the brakes is driving too fast. When I am approaching a golf cart in the golf cart lane nearing a merging spot with cars, I'm fairly certain they are not going to hang a right and jump the curb. They are going to merge, so slow down and let them.

Wow! If you see a golf cart in a lane that is merging, and notice they do not have their blinker on and you have to slam on your brakes to keep from killing someone . . . . you may be going to fast. Or even worse, you may be one of those people who speeds up so the golf cart can't merge in front of you.

We all live in a golf cart community. I find that most of the time it is not the car's or the cart's that are the problem. It's the lack of patients we sometimes have for each other here in TV.

At this age, we sometimes suffer from Critical Parent Syndrome or grouchy spells however you choose to describe them. It helps me to just try to be safe and be kind to each other.

I am sorry you are missing the point, folks that are merging in a reasonable factor i have no problem with.
It is the ones who merge 100 yards before they have to and then yell at the driver of a car for not yielding to them after they don't use there signal and then merge over immediately without any warning, so folks don't act stupid it has happen to everyone and the fact of entitlement to rule the road by the golf cart community.
It is a privilege for golf carts to share the road with the cars Period and Carts don't have the right of way.
This is all i am saying PERIOD.
I do not speed and always do the speed limit of 30 or 35 depending on where you are driving.
And Slamming on your brakes is a must when some idiot merges over without any warning.
Including when some golfer isn't patient enough to get across the road to get to the next hole.
There has even been security helping a crossing area during heavy times or when there are gate problems to keep golf carts from being hit.
Just talk to the security gate folks and see if the drivers are the problem or impatient golf cart drivers.
Get a grip golfers the hole isn't going anywhere!
