Default Rialto theater

Does anyone KNOW the status of the Rialto theater. It closed prior to the pandemic for a complete overhaul. There was activity for a long time but nothing for weeks. Even the newspaper stopped providing updates.

On this forum there have been EIGHT threads on the Rialto Theater.

I believe it is not a priority, because attending movies has tanked and few have even been made. In the fifteen years I have lived here, I have NEVER attended a movie at ANY of the three theaters we have and had any thing CLOSE to half full attendance.

It may be that the developers are reading that it isn't a good investment. Or MAYBE NOT. No one ever KNOWS what they are thinking, but so far SO GOOD.

Welcome to the forum, new person. Have you been here before?

They seem to be waiting until the movies are coming back to where they were before the Corona Virus.

This is a very unique area with a huge number of retirees and few theaters in the surrounding vicinity. Last one was this Judy. And I did no even have a place for my umbrella. So, I moved to a seat by a wall so I good lean it against there. Then the theater was completely full.

I have been to many movies at the Rialto with no empty seats available.

Hope all three are open soon. They are a real plus to the Squares.

Accept change streaming is much more convenient. Another acquisition in the works MGM is being purchased by Amazon adding to Amazon content. Netflix productions along with Hulu, HBO productions are replacing most theatrical productions in movie theaters. Even Comcast owner of NBC has free streaming thru PEACOCK TV.
MY 60’ Smart-tv is putting theaters out of business in time. Content fees for the month are the cost of a ticket, popcorn, and beverage from the comfort of your home.
Like it or not everything is changing.

Wow! How do you fit a 60' (foot) TV in your house?

"The sales rep claimed (but I did not believe him) that overall the dealership was losing money on the selling price before the end of the month adjustments from Toyota" Stu from NYC 5/23/2021.

before Covid I went to lots of movies at night mostly and quite a few of them were filled and when I go here soon for summer months to Boston I will continue to go if there are movies . I have 65 inch TV others have bigger ones but for me there is no substitute for a big screen movie in a darkened theater . I wouldn’t know how much snacks are i haven’t bought anything hmmm well forever I prefer a snack somewhere after the movie

New Movies 2021

Not many box office potential smashes opening this Summer.

They seem to start up in November with the new Ghostbuster and 007 movies coming out then and the new Top Gun.

Have you forgotten the building of the eight-screen theater in Brownwood? Or the long lines for tickets to the Star Wars releases? How did you know that attendance was only half full if you’ve never attended a movie in one?

Just askin’?
