A single road should not cause to much of a problem.Safety was one of the concerns.Sounds like the area will not be disturbed very much.

I think anyone who doesn't have anything built behind them is asking for a huge surprise someday, but I really thought some of this was Protected Land...I don't know by whom...The Federal Gubmunt? The Florida uppity-ups? The Society for the protection of Egrets? I am kinda joking but I am not joking either. |
all of the land north of 466 where the morse family live to the south of Santiago will be houses sometime in the near future . Its just called a preserve for general purposes.

If this is part of the Morse compound than I guess it isn't protected anything............

Gracies "poor little girl from the mining town"
That poor little girl from the mining town, graduated from a prestigious college where she'd obtained a full scholarship. She used the money she'd earned while in college from teaching city kids how to play the fiddle, how to properly gut and cook "game meat"to go to a small, yet select private Finishing School in Switzerland. Speach therapy smoothed her country accent (which in reallity was quite charming) Our heroine learned how to walk with a book on her head (huh?) was taught all the "social graces", had a clothing and facial "make-over"........ Then she met the titled man of her dreams (although we don't know the content of those dreams)

The Preserves within The Villages are clearly marked as such with small white signs along the black board fences ("Nature Preserve, No trespassing, pets, hunting, etc., etc.). If you have a black board fence behind your property that does not have these signs, you are not on a Preserve and cannot expect any future protection of the land by The Villages. At least the properties in the parcel north of 466 are zoned Agricultural. Down in the newer areas, near 466A, people are buying houses that back up to farms and raving about their wonderful views, feed ing the horses and so forth. Much of that land is zoned Commercial and the owners are just waiting for a chance to capitalize on the growth of The Villages. |

Like I said, It could be a safety issue for the post office traffic. Small golf cart trail will not hurt anything. Remember this area and all of florida could be a preserve. Remember the buffalo preserve, really just a field. Have to relax and not jump to conclusions. So its not a real problem.

I sent another email to Janet, here is her reply to my question that I was asking about Santiago and no De Le Vista..........
Good Evening, I knew you said Village of Santiago. I just wanted you to know what was happening just in case that is where the rumor was coming from re: the roadway. I am not aware of anything happening in Santiago. I have copied Sam in case he is aware of anything. Have a great weekend. Janet ----------------------------------- The Sam mentioned is Sam Wartinbee with District Property Management. I think the original poster should provide more information to her claim, street, area, etc. |

I have found Janet to be very responsive to any question I have asked. She is held in high regard in the way she performs the role of District Manager. And has been complimented by both the POA & HOA in their newsletters. |
I hold Janet Tutt in the highest regard. She has been extremely helpful to our family and friends when all else failed. She attends all of the POA meetings as well. :coolsmiley:

Surprisingly......and much to my delight, TV added many lovely trees on the other side of the lake which will eventually obstruct the view of whatever will be built over there. They also added some lovely greenery on our side of the lake. Very classy! They didn't have to do that.....all the lots had been sold....yes...all the lots were sold! But I was really happy about it. I guess that Morse family likes to have their properties look "top shelf". Yes, TV is TOP SHELF!!! |

Post #48 mentions small white signs on the black rail fence that states "property is a preserve and no trespassing", etc. Could be wrong but in all the views towards the field from the house for sale in prior post didn't see any such signs. jmho but kinda throws doubt onto the area being a preserve even though map might indicate same. Could be Ag/Comm. property. As I said jmho.......don't have a dog in this fight.
|
I agree, I looked for signs on the fence but I didn't see any. However, there was a picture of a burrowing tortoise, which is a federally protected species. Who knows?
|
Follow up to my earlier posts. I have received a response from Sam Wartinbee because Janet Tutt forwarded my email to him.
Looks like everybody can go back to enjoying the good life and stop the hand wringing and worrying. My advice is, if you see something that you don't understand and want an answer, send Janet an email. These folks don't like rumors any more than we do. Good Morning, The property owner in Lakes and Live Oaks south of the Village of Santiago is clearing a path for exercising the horses, a road is not being built. Great root'n-toot'n-shoot'n shooter! http://www.allpest.com/wot/smileys/woohoo.gif

In my very humble opinion, Bogie Shooter always gets it right.
He sees the bottom line and has good common sense and knows how to spot a scam, find the answer, and say it like it really is. Plus he is FAIR and doesn't have some hidden agenda. Boy Howdy. That Bogie is great!! He reminds me of my Sweetie...and that is the nicest thing I can say about anyone. |

Also, I have in writing that my property bordered a Wildlife Preserve that would always remain rural. Now I see carts carrying garbage cans and pulling horses down this road. I am sick over this and plan to see what I can do legally. Marilu Smith |

You need no help from anyone if you have it in writing. If your home is a resale, then it would be the responsibility of the previous owners unless there is something on the deed. Where do you live? |
i agree with Gracie. Where do you live, what is the street name. You came on here with a gripe, how do you expect anyone to help?
|
Ms Smith, Is your property located at xxxxxxxxxxxx. in Sumter County?
If so, the Sumter County tax office can answer any questions you have about property that adjoins your property. Your inquires should be directed to the zoning dept. This forum can do nothing except guess as to your situation. A call on Monday to the county offices can answer all your questions. |
I will bet you the property with the path is owned by GTMJ Investments Group value $232,320 and the wild life preserve is a strip of property approximately 65 feet wide and approximately 4/10 miles long running along the back of the properties in your area separating you from the farm land in your area. The 65 feet wide property is owned by The Villages of Lake Sumter. It is obvious do to the shape of this property it will not be built on.

I do not think she wants her address posted. You should respect her wishes.

Shadow. One picture is worth a thousand words.
It is always wise to prepare for a surprise when you buy a lot with nothing on it behind you. |
|
You are correct as to location
