And if you're saying all things can be explained by the laws of the universe, then we agree. But that's not how the human definition of "accident" works.

And you don't have to believe in "fate or happenstance or magical thinking" to believe that accidents...unavoidable by any reasonable definition of the word...do happen.

Sorry, not buying it. " I forgot ", " wasn't me ", " he did it ", " not my fault ",
" I couldn't see ", " it just happened ", " I couldn't help it ", " I drank too much ", " I was upset ", " I wasn't thinking ", " I couldn't do it ", " I didn't realize "', etc. etc. etc. ALL BS :grumpy:
The fact is THIS. Someone died on 44 because someone wasn't thinking straight and it ****es me off. Accident, my ass.

Nobody used those words except you.

And make up your mind. Now you're referencing a single incident. You can't use that to prove your claim that there is NEVER such a thing as a true, "out of anyone's control", accident.

Didn't say never, I am a reasonable man after all.

The only real accident I believe would be a medical condition which you have absolutely no knowledge of and strikes with no warning. In that case you truly are not in control. A mechanical failure can happen that is inherent in it's design and those cases have been litigated with the manufacturer proven at fault. I don't accept floor mats that impede control nor blowouts. These things can be prevented. Engines that suddenly stop or brakes failing are rare and if so can typically be traced to poor maintenance. I also don't like the fact that Florida does not require safety inspections. Poor judgement in some way by one or more parties cause crashes. Let's not loose site of texting or talking on the phone while driving. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

States with safety inspections turned into revenue collections cause like tax everybody got have finger in the pot. There is no proof that state ran safety inspection prevent accidents. ( if so the manulipate numbers to fit there agenda TAX)

it's texting, talking on the phone, not pay attention, poor drivers training, and DSs trying to get one car ahead cutting off traffic. Or it's Johnny speed racer on cc high.

All right!! A peaceful, civil resolution! With maybe a touch of agree-to-disagree thrown in. I can live with that. :)

It can be inferred that a low income person driving a beater will defer what needs to be done when the pad rivets are grooving out his rotors. An inspection would require the brakes to be repaired.

Bauxite is good stuff, sprinkle some behind your cabinets and you’ll never see an ant. I like a little basalt on my baked potato, but not good for blood pressure. And you just reminded me I have to buy two quartz of milk today.
