He poops at Doggie Doo Run Run usually. He likes to go to the Lynnhaven Postal Center to meet the few dozen pooches who also go there about that time. Some come with their dogs from other neighborhoods than Lynnhaven.

It takes about 10 seconds to get him properly into the car seat as you have to attach a clasp to his leash or else he moves around in the car, make sure his tail does not get hit by the door, and that he is facing the right way.

Tal, please don't worry about them. A couple of them are always like that. We know you.

Thanks for the help Graciegirl. I know you have had problems yourself with specific posters.

I would hope dog owners are not socializing at the postal stations. The sign clearly states "post office parking 10 minutes only".

Ours does not have that kind of sign that I can remember. Some non-dog owners chat for quite a long time as they are not busy walking their pooches.

I wonder why everything but the woman almost running me over is being discussed?

Haven't seen any sign like that either. Makes little sense since it is also the neighborhood pool and rec center.

Sorry this happened to you, Tal. Even sorrier that some think you were wrong on some level. Perhaps re-wording the situation might help some understand:

The OP was at the postal station with 50 open parking spaces. He was on the passenger side helping his 102 year old mother into the seat when someone pulled into the space next to him and impatiently tried to "bully" him out of her way, forcing him to move to avoid being hit. Is that behavior acceptable as well, or is it different when it is a dog?

Some thought he was looking for a fight by giving a "nasty" look. He wasn't the one with the 2 ton lethal weapon. I have an even temper, but in a situation like this I would, and actually have a few times, gone over to the driver and in my best Ben Carson voice tell him. "Please move your car, or I will move it for you. You will be far better off choosing the first option" Worked 2 for 2 so far.

And even if this was the last parking space available and 10 cars were circling the lot to find one, there is no reason why the driver couldn't pull halfway in to claim the space and wait 10 sec. for the rest of the space to clear.

The parking spots immediately in front of the postal boxes at Paradise does - and it's pretty big. Look and let us know the next time your at Lyndhaven if there is one. However common sense to me is that is what those parking spots immediately in front of the boxes are for. If you went to get your mail in the afternoon and there was no place to park and a bunch of doggie owners milling around parading off their pride and joy - well let's just say that would have started another entitlement thread.

Does Paradise have a pool there too?

Again there were maybe 15 cars in the parking lot when this happened and some of these people were using the pool and often stay there for an hour or more.

There were probably 50-60 open spots.

I did think of just telling the woman to stop her car and go to another parking space but actually am a very non-confrontational person. I just got my dog in safely to his car seat-- which takes about 25 seconds-- and then went around and got in my car and left while giving this woman's back a very hard glare.

There always will be people who try to make themselves feel better by making others feel worse. Some of it comes from a need to feel like they have power. (cringe) Try to remember it's their problem not yours.

Working with the public sure can be a challenge sometimes.

Just pretend it's theater as those characters "strut and fret" upon the stage.

I detect something personal here against me Outlaw. I got out of the woman's way as fast as I could. I did have to get Beau safe though.

And I am not sure how old this woman was/is. She could have been as young as 55. To maybe 75.

Same with Kahuna32162. I have had mean spirited posts from this person as well. I have no idea why these two people seem to have animosity towards me.

I can put up with the everyday grouches but when a dangerous weapon is concerned like a car; that is different. Pull this with your car against a cop putting his or her dog in the car and you would probably get tazed maybe even shot .

Tal, see bold sentence. Nothing personal against you; just don't agree with your justification for your anger, and as you continued to post, your story seemed to indicate that you may have been in a bad mood and the slightest thing was going to cause you to react negatively. I'm actually surprised that so many posters immediately assumed this person, who you said could have been 75 yrs old, was intentionally forcing you to move with her car. Could it have been that she was an impaired senior (vision, motor control, dementia) who shouldn't be driving, and did not realize how close she was getting to you? You tell the story as if you could read her mind and knew her intentions. And then we have the added aggravating factor of the "2 mph lethal weapon" statement. I'm waiting for the attempted murder accusation. It just seems totally out of control. And now we have a thread that morphed into a rant on how there are so many rude people in TV. And the typical TV cheerleaders actually joining in to bolster that view! Surprise. Anyway, only you know what happened, but I would not be at all surprised if that lady had no clue that you felt rushed, forced, intimidated, or whatever. She may have never even realized what went down.

I doubt if this woman did not know what she was doing was wrong. She just did nor care.

She was a brunette of anywhere from 55 through 75 and moved fine. I had not parked near the Postal Center but maybe three to five parking spaces away from it. These spaces were all full though with maybe eight cars parked with people getting their mail.

And in a community this size there are going to be people who are just not very considerate of other people.

Again the problem I am having is someone using her car to clear the parking space someone else was occupying. She stopped, saw that I was busy messing with my dog Beau and just decided to keep on coming with her car even though I was still in that parking space. I am still angry about this type of behavior. And she was coming in at a good speed when she started to push me out of the way using her car as a broom. I had to slam the door and get close to the car to make sure she did not hit me with her car.

There was a witness who did not seem to believe what this woman did too. She saw the glare I gave the woman. Again this could have been a woman of 55 or so. The witness was a Senior of maybe 70-85.
