Years ago hubby bought a brand new red Ford F150. He went to our local mall to buy me a box of chocolates and because he parked too close to the parking line, and when he came out to the truck, no note but a keyed note on the new door saying FU.

I'll take the note anytime

Not nice!

A similar card was left on my friend's cart about two years ago when they were new residents. I felt so sorry for them The wife told me the story about parking at Publix on 441 and what a big deal it was for them to go across the bridge and take the cart to get groceries. Then they came out and found a similar card on their steering wheel. Her husband was a fire fighter just outside of New York City, a big strong fellow who has saved lives and dedicated his life saving others'. She said he was humiliated and mad at the same time.

But you know what? They stayed around and they've made many friends and are enjoying the last years of their lives here-despite that stupid card left by someone who I imagine thought they were pretty sharp printing them up to "show" a stranger something. They just showed their lack of empathy. That's all.

I can't understand why people take things like parking so personally that they'd vandalize (that isn't a strong enough word), destroy or even touch someone's property. That is taking it to a whole other level. Wow.

Yes, of course I had the signal on, as well as the backup lights being on with the car in reverse!!

Why else would somebody be backing up toward an empty parking space?

One thing I have noticed a lot of since we've been here...5 weeks. There are a whole bunch of impatient drivers. Isn't the motto...No Hurry, No Worries. Such a shame people can't relax a little more.

Thanks, raynan.

Holy crap! I can't believe you wrote this! People in NYC UNDERSTAND parallel parking...it's a necessity!!

Top 20 States for worst driving.

Hey we're 9th. Florida. that site says how many people flunk the exam. wow, that explains injustice. Do you know that people who squeak by on the exam and get licensed become eligible for jury duty?

not to get deleted here for being off topic. this thread is targeting the person who wrote that nasty note and 648 of us have read about it and not one confession.
in the name of totv, will the culprit please post so at least two of us are really on topic?
I did not do it.

I wish them a great time while they are here.

I agree. But maybe TV sales people who set up the LSVs could advise the renters of the etiquette "rules of the road" for golf carts since it might be the first time for them. There is a live person who walks you through all that when you show up. he would be the one to let you know.

They probably did, but speaking from one who went through the LSV 2 yrs ago, they give you so much info that it is overwhelming. Heck -driving out of the sales office parking lot was overwhelming for us.

My opinion is that the streets are county roads and the parking spaces are sized for cars. They do not say golf carts only and they do not dictate a protocol for parking golf carts.

There is a generally accepted practice of parking two carts to a spot by offsetting the vehicles, but it is not a rule and no one has any right to **** and moan about how many carts are parked in one spot.

It is a common courtesy to optimize the space, but not doing so does not indicate in any way that the driver of the "offending" cart is being inconsiderate.

Well Holy crap, again! I know people in NYC who have never owned a car, much less parallel parked one.

That's a really good point. And I hope the rude card was thrown in the trash. There are places up norh where you can buy these cards or post-its to put on others' cars. Too bad. Having the nasty comments pre-printed and ready to go is bound to cause some people to become proactive.:rant-rave:
