Default Rude shoppers at Colony

I frequent a lot of the Publix stores here.

I was just at Colony and some woman came running with her cart at the end of the aisle and almost
clobbered me with the cart. She had her grand daughter in the cart.

We both stopped and I said “oh my goodness slow down.”
She then proceeds to tell me I’m cranky.

No apology, no sorry.

I don’t know what is with people that go to Colony.
They would just run you over if they could.

I seem to encounter rude people or rude driver's most everywhere I go. That's not to say that everyone is rude by any means. It's definitely a minority but leaves a bad taste. It's also not isolated to TV or even Florida. There will just always be that certain percentage of any population that were raised to believe they are special, more important than anyone else, and that the world revolves around them and you are just in their way. Yes, these are the same ones that you see driving down the highway with a cell phone between their face and their steering wheel. Nothing bad can happen to them - they are special. My goal is just to give them as little of my oxygen as possible and realize they have not managed to change their ways to this point in their life so they certainly are not going to change now for me.

What wasn’t surprising is she then went back to almost running with her cart.

I told her she was rude. Probably didn’t hear me ahe was going so fast.

I am a "people" that shops at Colony. I would not run you over, even if I could. And, I am not rude...usually. Since we can't hear the tone of your voice, and you were upset with HER, we must assume you said that very sweetly with a smile on your face, in no way chastising her. THEN, she would have been rude in her response. Maybe had you not spoken, even sweetly as we assume, she would have apologized. Just sayin'....not rudely, at all.

From what I've remember reading a lot of posts about rude people around Colony and south of 466. I believe part of it is the crowding. The most popular areas are where the big attraction of living in these areas. We are up in Santo Domingo. Very happy here.

I go at 7AM when they first open. In & out I like it because at that hour nobody has had a chance to get PO'D yet. Workers are very friendly and those that are there know what they want, where it is and get the heck out.

If it is any condolence to you, there are rude people in Melbourne, FL too where we lived three times. It was partly for this reason we decided not to live in FL for good.

If you took Psychology 101 in college, you know what rats do in a crowded cage.

In younger family-oriented communities. Surprisingly the younger people here in the Minneapolis are quite nice; they try to teach their children to be kind to others by setting good examples.

Of course there is no community that is perfect. It is just that it did seem to me that Florida has a higher number of rude, cranky, selfish elderlies. No, I am not discriminating against them; I am nearing 80 myself.
