(2)(a) Any homeowner may display one portable, removable United States flag or official flag of the State of Florida in a respectful manner, and one portable, removable official flag, in a respectful manner, not larger than 41/2 feet by 6 feet, which represents the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard, or a POW-MIA flag, regardless of any covenants, restrictions, bylaws, rules, or requirements of the association.

Florida Statute 2018-- Sec 720.304

How would you define removable in this situation? Would it need to be removed daily? If a storm was coming up or I was to go away for a while it would be removed. I'm not trying to start an argument or stir the pot, just curious. Are there rules about what you can hang in a lanai? I followed an earlier link to the ccd site and can't find what I am looking for.

I believe that just because every possibility known to mankind is not covered by ones DR there probably are some general rules that apply all over they can find to cover it. I can't imagine them permitting me to cover 12' x 24' area with a huge mural nailed to the side of my house just because it is not specifically excluded any more then they would allow a 2' x 4' wooden flag.

I guess you can take 'em to court but they have dozens of high-priced lawyers on the payroll who could eat anyone up alive. :)

Who is they?

You don’t know who “they” are, do you?

:"They" are those who know. "They" are those who can price peanuts by pound without weighing them. If you saw "them" you would know. ;)

What about the Confederate battle flag flying at a backyard next to the Liberty Park gate ? Been up at least a year now.

Back yards seem to be an, 'anything goes' area.
As for flags, crosses. ornaments etc. in front gardens, where you live, and whether you have live and let live neighbors, must also be in the equation as to what you can get away with.
There was a report, on the site that must not be mentioned, that there were a couple of 'vigilante' type residents:police:, touring round and reporting any restriction digressions. Myth or true, I know not.

There are a few of those...flying here in TV.

I just drive by and laugh, while thinking..."angry, treasonous losers." :D

Turn them in. Ignoring the problem just perpetuates the abuse.:a040:

Abuse is unfortunately subjective....in the eye of the abusee.....sometimes prejudiced (abuser and abusee).

Violations per 100,000........minuscule.....lost in the rounding!

Abuse is a fact . Either it is -or it isn't.

One persons abuse position is another persons so what!!!

That is why TV system is complaint driven VS enforcement....too subjective!

If they took it down and replaced it with a Christian flag, would they then be in compliance?
