That doesn't sound like it is near to our Villages. |
It seems to be in Barbados

"Open Meeting" Laws And Reporters
There's not much that can happen in any community without local government involvement and approvals. Those issues must be openly discussed with the opportunity for public hearings and involvement as the result of "open meeting" laws. And where there are open meetings, there will be reporters from the media.
There's not a lot of sense in chasing down rumors--although we do have a lot of time for activities like that, and golf. When something like has been rumored here is going to happen, we'll have plenty of forewarning. For me, I'm going to use that extra time pursuing other activities. |
Read the article about Polo in today's paper and you will see the Morse's have a connection to the Williams' family in Barbados. So no surprise there. Cow Williams is the largest builder on the island of Barbados.

What better to do with one's spare time on a rainy Night in The Villages then to pursue rumors....! Anyone have any to share?
|
I haven't seen as many rumors since I was in the Navy and non of them were accurate. The land they are working on just west of Brownwood is hugh and could hold a nice mall, but could also hold a lot of homes. It would be nice to have a Dunken Donuts in Brownwood but would also be nice to have a place that had a full breakfast menu such as 2 Jays or Athens.

I doubt this venture has nothing to do with the Morses. Read it carefully. But this one does; http://www.barbadosadvocate.com/news...sp?NewsID=7843 |
here's an earlier thread on the Morse Barbados investment:
https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...venture-62175/ an article re the project: The Barbados Advocate - Marina expected to attract millions and an interesting article from Barbados Today re the IRS and tax exempt bond issuance:IRS stumps Port Ferdinand investor | Barbados Today kind of old news here - but interesting that the issue was picked up and written about in Barbados! |
there is no mall.
and as far as celebration....if disney is reluctant to expand the existing community called celebration due to the lack of affordability...and a weak economy....why in the world would they come out here to the boonies and build a community? |
Source of "true" comments please.

My Momma always told me, "Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see". Best advice of my life.
