Rec centers frequently give permission for RVs, etc. to park there for a few days. If it bothers you, check with staff. If it REALLY bothers you, call the Sheriff to have it towed. Not much we can do about it here.

No--the mgr @ the rec center, the person who parked there, said it was an SUV, the rec center mgr--was not happy when it turned out to be a RV

FYI...PA no longer sends out stickers to affix to license plates updating the current registration status. Seems odd to me too, but my point is the tags probably aren't expired

I see very nice lawn ornaments in yards while driving around the villages. But, it don't bother me so I keep my eyes mostly on the road. Usually the rule on RV,s when use like vehicles are allowed 72 hours to be parked in residential area. I don't think the rule covers parking lots? A car was parked at savannah center for over year with expired plates.

I agree. Nearly everyone of us grew up in a community that didn't have any rules of what can be parked where, and those communities sure didn't look like The Villages; I don't want to live again in a community with no standards.

Probably just another "freeloader" that doesn't want to pay fees to park the RV.

What's next? Boats , trailers, pick ups on blocks? The OPs concerns are valid.

Either the owner was given permission to park one night, or the owner was told to remove it the next morning. Either way, the sky is not falling.

What do you do if you're a tenant and the owner failed to tell you that RV's are only allowed in the driveway for 72 hours? That happened to me when we rented a home in Sunset Point years ago, we had a small 19' van conversion motorhome and that is all we had down here. We got a notice from the compliance department stating that it could not be parked there. I explained that we weren't too that and landlords should include a copy of the deed restrictions to all tenants as we did not know and had nothing else to drive. I called the county sheriff and asked him if there was a law stating I could not park on the street since they were county streets. His answer was that I could as long as I was not blocking a stop sign or fire hydrant. The home was on a cul-de-sac so I asked all of the neighbors if they would prefer my parking in the driveway or on the street, all wanted it in the driveway. I notified the compliance officer as to what I found out and he allowed it to stay in the driveway. I don't know what the law is up there now but that's how it went down back then. We rented down here 6 or 7 winters and were never given a copy of deed restrictions or rules/regulations to follow from any of the owners. Maybe that should be mandatory when renting a home.
