Actually those lizards are taking care of our bugs! Also, are food for alot of the birds. It took me awhile to get used to them after moving here from up north. Where we have very different types of Lizards!!

Only use this around your doors and garage openings: red pepper dust and or hot mustard. They are environmentally friendly and the anoles/gekos do not like it at all.

You won't kill them but keep them where you really need them out and around you home. šŸ˜ŽšŸ‘

I explain patiently that we own the property and pay the bills and we don't poop on their digs. They just look at me and don't say a thing. Next day I find poop on the chair cushions. I really enjoy them but it took awhile to get over their lizardly look. Now I just think of them as a bunch of lecherous fellows chasing after small skittery girls. When they aren't out or if they are climbing the screen in the birdcage, I always suspect their is a snake about. I really don't like snakes and I don't care if they were here first. Nope. We saved up and worked hard to get us a nice house here and those little fellows need to go home to poop. Not on MY cushions.

Oh Gracie! Now we are going to have a bunch of comments about anoles owners not picking up their poop!

Not from me...they are harmless, interesting to watch but most importantly they keep my lani bug free. When you mess with nature there is ALWAYS an unintended consequence.

Yes, this works very well. I used the aluminum? metal, kitchen scrubbies none of the insects can bite through metal. You can cut them in half with a sissors and they fit under the aluminum threshold. You may not get everything because if you have a vinyl house they might get through the part when the vinyl meets the metal frame of your screen. But it is very rare when I see anything in the lanai now.

Occasionally one of them that has a British accent tries to sell you insurance.

Now that’s funny! I kinda like the little critters. I think I have some familiar ones on the patio running around my herb pots. One guy I call ā€œking of the Hillā€. Likes to get up high & watch for the insects. He just stares at me & doesn’t run away. Sometimes I talk to him...yes that’s right. I just am extra :duck: careful to not let them inside the lanai.

mine must be house trained? I don’t see it.

When I was a little girl, and when we went up every summer to the catskills , I used to collect the orange salamanders. I had a large box and I made a little village for them. I would give them food and water and play with them! I guess I was a weird kid. LOL

Slugs do that

Also anoles don’t like fresh cut garlic smell. Or broken egg shells.

Personally I like my little guys outside, not inside, and I don’t mind them on the lanai screen. I watch them so often I recognize some of them and have given them names. They tend to be territorial and it is fun to watch them puff out to make themselves look bigger and more ferocious....

We love sitting on our lanai and watching the anoles. Yesterday my wife counted 14 of them on our lanai screen

Live and let live, but I don’t really like finding one in my house. I suggest not keeping your doors open. I occasionally will get one inside, likely snuck in thru the doggie door. I found a stunned frog in my house once and was able to successfully move it to the outside. Get used to them, they were here first.

I woke up one morning and one was steering at me from the night stand. Took me three day to catch him.

Geckos come out at night. Usually seen the around lights, ( yard lights, street lights, lights on buildings) you can tell them apart by there eyes and legs.95% in day light lizards are anoles.
