Did any see the Olif Spear trio? I once saw them play at the Smithson Center. They could pass the time!

Also, what about that band with the guy that sung the song of being blue? Yes to that!!!

How about Abbacadabra. They are touring the country right now, and have had rave reviews. They said they used to come to The Villages, and would be interested in coming once again, should the new recreation department consider contacting them. They are at 'ultimate" Abba tribute band. They really put on a show. Trish Barron, Pine Ridge, The Villages

[QUOTE=Kahuna32162;1649998]I'm sorry to to say anything negative, but why do we get the same shows year after year? Kansas, Lords of 52nd street, Hotel California, Lee greenwood, The Righteous Brothers, The Drifters.....that's a pretty long list of past shows here. Is this all that is available?

I'd be interested in suggestions as to what kind of acts people would like to see, either at The Savanna Center or The Sharon. Also, let's be reasonable, Billy Joel, Elton John or Bruce Springsteen are just a ways out of the budget.

I'll throw out a few:

Jackson Browne
Jethro Tull
Boz Scaggs
Seals and Crofts
Frankie Vali

Your Turn. Phil Vassar, Marshall Tucker, Montgomery Gentry, Chicago, Trace Atkins, Larry the Cable Guy, Bill Engvall

Those are great show suggestions. BUT if they don’t fix the acoustics at Savannah Center - skip it. We attended Blood, Sweat & Tears, and The Village People this year. The music is so loud it drowns out the lyrics. You couldn’t hear a lyric unless you already knew the words. It is the same for any seat therein - main floor or balcony. FIX IT , or give the microphones more power than the music amps.

Recently attended a tribute to Dick Clark, American bandstand tribute hosted by a talented Ron Seggi. It was supported by a 13 piece band that was positively super.
This show has been presented in towns around Orlando and has had high review from each of the showing.
The band members and singers are all from the Orlando area.
The show is listed on the internet under Ron Seggi.

How many times have the Lords of 52nd Street appeared here? Have you been to one of their concerts? Maybe you are not a fan of B.J. music?
Love these guys. Saw them for the first time this year.

So we saw that Don McLean was coming. We thought . . . one hit wonder (okay maybe a few) but after reading the reviews we will definitely go see him next year if he comes back. People thought he put on a fantastic show.

Some of those names still sell out sports stadiums. There is no venue here that could justify that and at what price?
