Default Save The Wave

Bikers do it, as in motorcyclist, Corvette drivers do it, but golf cart drivers seldom do it. It's wave to people that are walking towards you in your neighborhood. The friendliest town? Couldn't be the full time residents. Probably snowbirds, visitors that are bummed about returning to their blustery homeland, or disgruntled bass fisherman.

That was one of the many things I thought was great when we moved here. People actualy waved when you passed. Thought it was great. Having come from NY we got a much different wave. God TV is GREAT!!

I wave and also say hello. Most reciprocate, a few don't....but MOST do!

One year my brother-in-law visited and I told him that he's going to notice that people around here wave at each other. Told him to make sure he waves back, too....lol.
Before he left, he remarked that he enjoyed getting and sending waves of hello!

My wife and I always wave either walking or carting and most return the wave. Ain't TV grand?

That was one of the first things I liked about TV...people actually "seeing" each other and waving.

Okay, I must chime in here.

Wave... No, Not most. I've been coming to TV for some five years and this past summer, became interested in moving here. My wife and I are retiring and this was where we wanted to be. We're from the south and a firm believer in courtesy. I ride a Honda Goldwing and have been a motorcyclist for years. As stated, I wave. We bought in June and I returned in July to check on the home building. I stayed at the Marriott in SS and rented a cart for the week. I have never been so "grumbled at by mankind in my life".. Hear me out, I found out the rentals do not go as fast as the ones we own, I had not been around golf carts much and didn't know the headlight came on when you turn the key all the way to on. So teach me, don't grumble at me. I finally had to go back to the LSL Yamaha and ask how to turn the lights off. As far as going slow, I just soon learned to just smile and not say what I really wanted as I was passed "many" times and their comments were really getting to me (Slow-poke, pokey, damn rentals...etc).
As far as waving, I wave at everyone I pass, but do I get a return wave.... One out of fifty will return the wave. Most just stare at me as I pass within feet of their cart on the path.

This is the only beef I have with the Villages.....

Okay, I've vented and will climb down from my soapbox..

Tommy, I also ride a Wing and wave to everyone. When I first got my golf cart I thought everybody in a cart was waving at me, and I'd wave back. Later realized they were only making hand signals to turn. I wave to walkers coming towards me, but sometimes as you know the wave comes too late to react and wave back.

Tommy T, Sorry you had such a bad experience. When we had our LSV our rental cart was ---- slooow. Every one passed, and waved. We couldn't figure out how to turn on the lights when leaving the square in the dark and had a crowd of people helping. My favorite story - when I was riding my bike along Morse Blvd, my daughter called the cell so I stopped riding to talk. Everyone passing me asked if I needed help! Thanks to all for checking on me. Tommy T I'm sure your future cart trips will be more positive, TV is really a friendly place.
