Default Scam directed at Mary Kay Consultants

My daughter just became a Mary a Kay consultant. She recently received an email from someone in Minnesota who wished to buy her products. This woman told her she was a makeup artist. She ordered $200 worth of products and said she would have her director pay for the purchase by check. After the check was supposedly sent she told my daughter that her company sent too much money by mistake. My daughter was sent a check that appeared to be a cashiers check in the amount of $2260.36. She was asked to send the overpayment via western union back to the girl who bought the cosmetics. My daughter called the bank who issued the cashiers check and was told it was not a valid check. She immediately went to the Lady Lake Police Department and reported the scam. So if you are a Mary Kay consultant, please be aware of this scam.

Thank you for the heads up, Cobh. I have read about this scam being played on others too. It's good to make everyone aware of it. You have a wise daughter.

I'm always amazed at how people can come up with such scams. If only they could put their brains to more legal uses.
