Question SECO statement: hot bucks???

Just noticed this line item on our statement.
Hot Bucks - PCA

In our case, it’s a small credit but I don’t know what it is for, what we did to get it and what we might do to maximize it in future months.

Other parts of the statement are explained on the back but not this.

Any ideas?

The billing rate, 11.7cents per KwH for the first 1,000, is approved by the state. View it as a ceiling. The hot bucks is a discount from this number for lower negotiated rates, usually for lower natural gas rates.

It is not guaranteed, and it does vary.

Edit to add, most electricity in Florida comes from gas powered plants.

Amazing right from the SECO Site:
SECO “Hot Bucks” are Hotter than Ever – SECO Energy
