Maybe, but I still think another agenda is at play here.

It's just a shame that there is no Megan's Law equivalent... for looking up felons of violent crimes.

Especially given our older demographic, I would think it would be even more applicable.

If you already know the name or address of a suspected felon you might find them in the link below, but there is no neighborhood database (that I've been able to find)...that's let's you see where they might be living around you.

Yes, but I would not leave them alone together until I knew all of the facts. There are all types of crimes that will get a person on the state sexual offenders list. It may be as simple as being drunk and urinating in an alley; it may be hooking up with a prostitute who lied about her age; it may have been a case of "he said - she said"; or it might have been an actual sexual crime.

Sometimes pedophilia is referred to when people are under 18. Not always just prepubescent.

Pedophilia is defined both legally and psychologically as having an interest in having sex with a child under the age of twelve. Pedophiles rarely care about the gender of the child, just that the child is prepubescent. A sexual predator will groom someone, usually under the age of 18, for sexual encounters. Again, we really don't know enough to label this guy as anything more than a sex offender.

And, again, I would be very leery of this man for the simple fact that he has been convicted of armed robbery. That, to me, is far more dangerous.

And, for those who asked, yes, I would invite a convicted sex offender into my home. It depends on the circumstances -- a 19 YO convicted of statutory rape with his 16 YO girl friend or a guy busted for urinating in public or someone arrested for having sex in a car. Those folks would be welcome. The guy who seeks out a teen advertising online, nope, not welcome. A pedophile or a sexual predator not even not welcome into my home but not worthy of even a friendly greeting on the street.

I think I would find out the details BEFORE I invited him into my home.

I would be more concerned about this guy's violent convictions. Everyone is at risk from a felon with a history of armed robbery, not just grandchildren.

Right! Multiple armed robberies... He is a violent felon.
