No, street legal carts are limited to 25 mph.

Well, I guess the guy in the car is the idiot AND the jacka**. I thought street legals could go 35.

golf2140 08-02-2014 04:53 PM

They should have never allowed street legals.

Is it true that 14-year-olds can drive them on the street without a license?

According to the website shown below, the driver of an LSV must be a registered driver. In Florida, the minimum age to get a driver's license is 16.

Your reference applies to downgrading LSVs to regular golf carts. Regular golf carts can be driven by people 14 years or older. LSVs require a licensed driver, the same as a car.

How about the LSVs coming in from outside TV?... Should they just get on the golf cart paths?

Thank you. The statute I was reading was regarding conversion from LSV to golf cart and I was confused.

Hey, not a problem. Anyone who claims to have never been confused is ... confused.

Having posted in this thread a few times, I feel like saying that I don't mind slow golf carts in this community and try to be conscious of the mixture of speeds and pedestrians and golf carts and bicyclists when I'm driving.
And reaching back to the original post, I hope that anyone who is driving an LSV repeatedly under dangerous circumstances on higher speed streets will be careful. Perhaps the sheriffs department would respond to reports of excessive speeds with closer monitoring.
