Help! Does anyone know who can do a shoe build-up? Not just an insert in the shoe but an actual build-up on the sole of the shoe. I had a hip replacement and one leg is 1/2" longer than the other now.

You do not state if you have insurance, medicare or self insured. Medical care depends on who is paying and following the procedure. Perhaps, a place to start is the doctor who did the hip replacement. I would assume they have done follow up and could write a prescription for you. I have a foot issue. I use Dr Sterling a podiatric surgeon and Dr Saunders for special shoes. They also do special devices. I am a tough patient. I hate doctors. I am thrilled with both of them and that is saying a lot.

Very common according to my surgeon. Just had mine done 3 weeks ago and that leg is definitely longer. Dr. and research all say very common and more noticeable because you've been walking on a short leg for a long time. The trade off to be pain free and able to walk, bike and be active is well worth it.

I'm no doctor but, one leg longer than the other will likely effect your back. Current medical care. Everyone is an expert on one part. You/we all live in the whole package.
Ponce De Leon came to Florida looking for the fountain of youth. What would he say about all the senior places in Florida?

Evidently when the surgeon asked about length adjustment for the replacement knee, one of the nurses was admiring my middle leg, and shouted, "God help us, that's nearly a foot long!"
Hence the discrepancy!:icon_wink:

You can wake up now:duck:
