Add another 1200 I believe to the total being built just west of Hammock at Fenney and these figures are only those being built by TV. There are thousands more being built along 470 and 301 from Webster to Summterville and north to 44. Alsohuge family developments north of 44 are going in all over the place.

Of course it is Middleton CDD is a "Family" district with a mix of housing, which will be single family, apartments, and town homes. All 8,200 units will be family friendly.

[QUOTE=Mistymom;2125474]With all of the new construction in the southern area of The Villages and schools, does anyone know if there will be plans for a major shopping area such as what is located on 466? Within this, I mean a Super Walmart, department stores, Home Depot or Lowe's,

I hope not. Getting to busy already. Make a trip about once a month north of 44 and that is enough. Eat out mostly outside of the villages.

Nope. Only a small percentage will be the "Family Homes with Children". The majority with be typical Villages homes...

"The Wildwood City Commission on Monday approved by a 4-0 vote the creation of the Middleton Community Development District A.

The neighborhood will be built next to The Villages south of the existing County Road 470 as a separate community with its own unique amenities.

The non-age-restricted neighborhood is designed to draw and retain the workforce that supports retirees in The Villages, with proximity to a new charter school campus.

Middleton CDD A will include about 2,480 acres and up to 8,280 homes, with a mix of housing types, designs and models.

The new school, a downtown area and all recreation amenities will all be accessible by walking, biking or golf cart via a network of pathways, trails and tunnels.

The first two residential units of family housing at Middleton will consist of 569 homes on about 133 acres south of Central Parkway and west of Stampeder Trail, documents show. "

569 Family Homes... Not 8200...

Maybe, depends on how one reads it. I believe they are saying the 569 will be the first group (residential unit) out of an eventual total of 8200 non-age-restricted homes because they aren't building them all at once. It can take many years. 569 is the "first village" to coin a phrase going up. I guess it all depends on what way one reads it. Where you put the voice inflection. Kind of like the old How Long is a ........ saying which might these days sound racist if I wrote the whole thing but just trying to make a point. So do you think it's going to be another senior 55+ development with the exception of "the 569" ?

Middletown (sp?) is most certainly going to be a 55+ community, with the exception of the 5-600 "Family Homes"...

This has been clearly explained in TV updates and by GoldWing Nut...

There will also be a new development west of 301 that will not be part of TV. Not sure who is building that, but it's also being built for families...

We go there once a week to the theater. Great theatre(reclining seats). Looks like this theater is the main draw and the mall will be a ghost town soon.

Employees supporting The Villages generating over $2 billlion a year in revenue working in the construction, logistics, medical, retail, service industry and so forth is estimated to be between 20,000 and 30,000 people.

When you double that with future expansion, the community needs over 50,000 people to work supporting The Villages.

A huge need for family housing is there. They have only announced the start but always have a vision for the future.
