Default shrub danger

I contacted standards regarding our neighbors( Landlord ) lack of shrub trimming. our power washer guy advised he could not get to the lower portion of our house because the shrubs were to tight. When someone finally came to do the trimming, one of the workers called me over and showed me a three foot long runner from one of the shrubs that showed signs of burning. Apparently this runner had grown into our dryer vent to the point where it was burned . Just a heads up to all regarding this issue. We have a Patio Villa but this could happen to anyone with shrubs near there home. FYI I clean the vent several times a year but the shrubs can grow very fast.

A good rule of thumb to follow is if you cannot walk along the house wall behind the shrubs, they need to be cut back. In addition to physical damage by roots, the plants provide a convenient bridge for insects.
