Default Shuttle

For you all who do not live here yet we just watched the shuttle go over TV. Well almost. What we see is the fire coming from the shuttle and the vapor trail. It is still exciting to me. Last time the weather conditions was so that we could hear a slight rumble from the shuttle.

It's so cool to to watch liftoff on television and then go out on my lanai and actually see the flame and vapor trail as the shuttle climbs into orbit.

Have heard landing in 14 days will be at night and wondering if we will be able to see the shuttle as it approaches the Cape. The sonic boom when landing is incredible. First time I heard it thought all of TV had exploded! Everthing shook!

Let's all wish our astronauts well and keep them in our thoughts and prayers until they're safely home again.

Donna Lee Hate that I missed it. I bet seeing it makes you feel good to be an American. We will be in TV tomorrow. I was hoping for a weather delay. Seeing a shuttle launch is on my priority list of things to do.

For those who missed the night launch last December (and what you can see from your front yard!), I video taped it. It does take about 60 seconds to clear the horizon, so be patient. I was not ready for the initial glow from about 90 miles away.

Enjoy...

Great video Jim  Unfortunately we were not living in TV in December to see that launch. Hopefully they have other night launch missions planned. That would be great to see!

That was just AWSOME. I was lucky enough to be in DisneyWorld (no, not TV--but the REAL DisneyWorld )with my daughter. They held up the fireworks so everyone could see the shuttle. It was far away, but it was still great!

Jim: What a Cool Video (and website) you've created. We saw that launch live and I still get goosebumps just thinking about it. We were in such AWE of the power and light and at the same time praying fervently for the safety of the crew. Thanks so much for posting this for all to see.

Jim,

This is a fantastic video clip. We saw it from our lanai but not as clear or as much as your footage. We are in Hemingway and we couldn't track it that much. Thank you for posting it.
