Happinow...do not leave TOTV because of a few not so nice posts by a few not so nice posters (and you all know who you are)! Those not so nice posters sometimes take on a persona simply because they are anonymous. Maybe they think they are funny, they are not; maybe they like to intimidate others with their words or maybe they are just plain mean and get a kick out of it. I would just ignore these posters (and you know who you are). TV is my home and it will soon be yours! And I just love this place! I have learned a lot from TOTV and I have made quite a few friends! Do not let a few chase you out "of the kitchen" or anywhere else you feel comfy! Hope you keep posting!

Remember with all the talk these these days about kids doing bullying, there really are a lot of adults who practice this as well.Would not let it bother me. Remember on sites like this, you are never face to face with a person, so some try a little to hard. From a former teacher."Once a bully always a bully"

My post wasn't mean... just honest! You are all over the board and your personality does change from post to post. This is no exception, as... for now... you are the helpless damsel in distress.

I think you've gotten yourself in a bit over your head by revealing so much about yourself, initiating a number of threads that are pretty much all over the map, posting opinions on a ton of things - - - You are inviting controversy.......which I don't think you can manage very well.

Just sayin....

Happinow, my best advice is to not let the grumps on here disuede you from continuing to post on this forum. It is way too easy to be a cyber-bully, hiding behind the anonymity of a keyboard.

Early on in my TOTV experience I encouraged my wife to join TOTV. I thought it would be a great opportunity to learn about her new community. In one of her first posts she gave an unfavorable review of one of the country club restaurants (which coincidently had numerous bad reviews in prior threads) and she was jumped on by a number of the grumpy crowd. She was accused of being a former employee of the restaurant with an axe to grind, of lying about her experience, and of not having enough posts to reliably comment on her experience. Unfortunately, she was so hurt by the experience that she rarely ever looks at TOTV anymore. Many great people on TOTV jumped to her defense, but the damage was done.

Take a break if you need to, but please come back.

As the old saying goes, " If you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything." These forums are very informative and you can pick and choose what you would like to read. No one forced anyone to read what these folks had to say about their adventure. Be happy for them as people were once happy for you when you made your move to live in The Villages.

Happinow,
I hope you won't let one or two people get you down. I think you are very much yourself on this forum. You don't try to adopt an image or persona. I like that. We all have our ups and downs, our hopes and fears, our moments of confidence and moments of doubt.

You have opened up and shared yours-- and have been criticized for the honesty by people who feel they are being brutally honest. Ironic, isn't it?

Hope you'll come back soon.

Hugs!

This is a pretty polite forum compared to most. You learn very quickly who has useful information to share and who the trollers are. The village girl is a TROLL! Not a very interesting or creative one. I usually just skip her/his posts. Happinow, Don't let anyone discourage you from sharing anything or as much as you want. Be open, honest and authentic and you will attract the same kind of person. My advice is , DON'T FEED THE TROLLS, by leaving the forum or altering anything you want to say.

happinow - i have learned on multiple occasions - that which doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger! you were wonderfully strong to start with and will be stronger for this experience.

take a vacation from posting - but don't stop reading. let your head clear and your heart heal.

you have many cyber-friends and followers here who will miss your enthusiasm, your wit, your openess, your frankness, yada, yada, yada. please consider staying in touch with them by private messaging at least.

this, too, will pass - just like the rain on the golf course. every tomorrow will seem brighter.

I do not post much but I do read TOTV every day just to keep up on activities going on and what people think. I have come to the conclusion to not take with a grain of salt what is being posted but find out myself what to do. But I do find it intresting to read everyones thoughts ,ideas and information that they provide but I still do a lot more research. We can all agree to disagree and life goes on.!!!!!!!

I think everything said on this forum should be carefully written as if their mother was in the room!!!!!....or better yet my mother! She would keep us all straight!!!!....giggle.....

I, too, signed off after political forum posters left blood and scars.
