Default Another Golf Cart Goes Ablaze

This fire happened early in the morning at LSL near Panera Bread. The cause of the fire has not been stated.

Update: The cart that went ablaze in Brownwood was a gas cart. After filling up with gas, the owner did not turn the tank cover tightly. Driving to Brownwood, gasoline leaked onto the engine. While parked, it caught on fire. Firemen did their best to quickly douse the flames. The cart, of course, was destroyed.(This is what I have been told. If anyone knows something different, please post. It is important we all remain safe.)

The reason for the post is to discuss how carts catch on fire. The one in Brownwood was due to an error the owner made. If the cap was screwed on tightly, the cart would not have caught on fire. I think it is important to send this message: Make sure you secure your tank cap tightly. If it saves only one person, I did a good deed.

I have no idea how the cart in LSL caught on fire. If it was owner error wouldn't you want to know the facts? This way, you can make certain it does not happen to you.

Do I need to know, NO. I could get out of the cart, stumble hit my head cause bleed, and die before bus arrives. So cart fire, or bleed either way pretty rare, or just bad luck

I predict 30+ posts on this thread, which will soon devolve into the debate over Gas vs Electric carts

Why are people attacking the OP for posting a relevant story. If a cart fire doesn’t interest you then don’t click the thread. She didn’t post clickbait. I for one think it’s a great reminder. I’ve left my car’s gas cap off by mistake. I could see it happening in the cart. Unfortunately the cart fill nozzle is in the engine compartment.

This post is a good reminder as leaving it off in a cart can have much more serious consequences.

Thanks for posting this.

So following your logic there is no need for any uncommon event to be reported by anyone- to anyone- at any time.

I’m going to start carrying a long stick and a bag of marshmallows with me.

I’ll keep graham crackers in my cart. If we can convince someone to bring some chocolate, we have a freaking party.

I've read it was a propane heater left on. There officially has been no cause released.

Is this becoming another one of those social media platforms where bad attitudes prevail? It's sad to read the replies to this post. Where are the happy people?
