Small brush fire at Brownwood Theater.
We went to Brownwood this afternoon to catch a movie and had a bit of excitement. A smoker started a brush fire on the side of the theater. Someone grabbed a fire extinguisher from the movie lobby and attempted to put it put while I called the fire dept. come on smokers. it's very dry out there so let's be careful with those butts. or, here's a better idea. don't throw your trash on the ground.
For the life of me I can't see why any smoker that chooses to throw a cigarette on the ground, especially in a climate such as Florida, isn't smart enough to recognize that it could start a fire and burn this beautiful area we live in.
There is an abundant amount of butts that need picked on the streets of TV. I think this would be a good way to get some exercise and beautify at the same time.

Two fires within ten days, not very good. Please watch those butts. If the wind was blowing the other way at the Sanibel gate , the gate house would have caught on fire.

I am more amazed by the use of pine straw as a ground cover - especially in areas close to expensive real estate and accessories - except for the fact that it is cheap!
