Default Smell of Smoke in Hadley???

Does anyone smell burning wood in the Heavenly Hadley area? Wow, its so strong, I thought my house was on fire... Maybe MelZ came back with that big cigar and is smokin it on his lanai, LOL..

Tell me I'm not losing my mind.... (OMG, did I open myself up on that question).

Kathie. You are not losing your mind. HOWEVER. There is no smell of smoke in Upper Hadley. Must be a Lower Hadley happening.

Bubba, it didn't smell bad, just the strong smell of wood burning. Thought for a moment I was back in LA and there were wildfires all around me.
But, found out tonight, another LOWER Hadleyite smelled it too. Mrs. JohnnyM (Barbara) told me she smelled it this morning. So seeeeee, not crazy, yetttt!

Our neighbor (not in TV) has a fire in his fireplace every evenly mildly cool day and it sure smells like a fire. Maybe someone had a fire in their fireplace.

Ok here's da deal. The smell of smoke is from dryed sugar cane being burned to fire the stills over south of 466A ( the new Brownwood area). These fired stills are replicas of the old days when the cowboys used to make their own whiskey. The locals still do. I cleaned out my golf cart today to make room for approx. 5 gals of moonshine for Kathies Super Bowl Party and I'll share it with you all at the party. I'm considering opening a bar in Brownwood called :"The Still" and serving happy hour specials till "the cows come home"
If you believe the above story, then I'm sure you will upfront, interest free, the money for my proposed enterprise

Talking

We occasionally smell smoke up here in the north country in the village of Piedmont.....I think some of the still functioning local farms burn brush after clearing their fields. It generally lasts a day or so.
I kind of like it ...takes me back to pre EPA days when we could burn brush and leaves in the fall, back in New England.

Gracie, so I guess I live in the lower east side of Hadley? That's okay, I'm in good company and we've become the "chic" part of Hadley just like Soho in Manhattan. Wanna come to visit us? You'll need a passport and a fire extinguisher....

Could lower Hadley be 'chic' and be called Loha?

Maybe that plane you heard was dropping smoke bombs, ie the source for the smell ---
