Humans and their furry four legged friends are invited to become a part of the American Cancer Society's Inaugural Bark For Life of Lake and Sumter counties event to be held on Saturday August 6, 2011 at Leesburg Dog Park, 9745 Silver Lake Drive, Leesburg, FL. Bark For Life is a fundraising event for the American Cancer Society that honors the care giving qualities of our canine companions. This event takes place to acknowledge our dogs for their loyalty, friendship, unwavering love and support they provide us with. You can bring your family and friends and treat your dogs to a fun filled day at Bark For Life.


This special event is the first of its kind in the Lake & Sumter area! This exclusive event includes our canine companions while fundraising for the fight against cancer. The money raised will go to the American Cancer Society for cancer research, education, advocacy, and patient services. “Our hope is that one day we will find a cure to eliminate cancer in humans as well as every living animal.” Chris Kirk Bark For Life Chair.

Bark For Life is open to the public to participate. Registration begins at 9:00am and we will kick off the event at 10:00am with our survivors leading the way. Local vendors will showcase their services to the public and Relay For Life teams will host doggie contests, fun dog games, and sell dog treats as well as human treats to keep everyone full and happy!
