I still got the bottle of High Karate that I got when I was 21, but I promise I use it very sparingly...

Exclamation Major Contributer

There are about 64,000 bladder cancer's each year. 10th largest Cancer in the USA. A major cause is smoking as the smoke leaves your body BUt the tar from smoking stays in the bladder and is one of the major causes of bladder cancer. Might want to consider this the next time you "light up"?

Unbelievable to me just how sensitive some of us have become since the world has been so good to us we look for ways not to be happier but to be annoyed. We are becoming a Nation of Wimps. Bring back the Draft for both sexes and increase the age to 65.

Isn’t having a smoking section in a restaurant like having a peeing section in a swimming pool?

Smoking on restaurant patio is legal - including cigar smoking. They have a cigar smoking club (unorganized) that regularly smoke cigars at the Country Club breezeways/patios. Florida has rather liberal smoking laws compared to some States. As the OP said, there are no-smoking signs at the pools.

My thoughts exactly, C France.

I feel sorry for smokers that can't quit after knowing what will happen, they will be the ones suffering for a year and a half gasping for air, feeling like they are being smothered, coughing up blood, not being able to sleep, and knowing they are going to have a long and very painful end. I've watched this happen to loved ones and it is probably one of the worst ways to die. Hopefully thinking of this will get at least one smoker to quit, it's never too late to stop.

Second hand smoke causes thousands of deaths from lung cancer. All the more reason to ban it from the patios and outdoor bars.
