Call the police if you think it is above the law.

Taxing authorities are required to keep assessed values current. Periodic updates are necessary to assure fairness , for the benefit of all. The conspiracy theory espoused in this thread are a bit much. I don't think there is any rule or law that prevents a government agent from entering an open yard or taking pictures in order to administer a lawful public purpose.

They should send a letter out requesting a invitation.

From where do you get your unsupported allegations about over and under assessments?

The windows are deliberately tinted dark and the logo is white with very small Font so they would not be detected easily.
Why would the Sumter County Appraiser act this way.. Just a FYI that is what the logo said "SUMTER COUNTY ASSESSOR".
If they had nothing to hide why would these cars be so camouflaged with dark tinted windows and very small logos'
Something tells me someone or a group of people are fighting there taxes and the assessor is gathering information for the fight.
The last tax increase Pi**ed off alot of people.

All of your Why's could be answered by contacting the County....rather than asking on social media.(Unless you are just looking for opinions or support)
This is the same call you could have made at the time of your incident.

If you go to sumterpa.com and look at the pictures of your property and your neighbors property you will see that the photographs are taken by drone and are kept up to date. For instance I just noticed that ours shows our recently added swimming pool. I even see our cat Bootsie out by the pool. He is wearing his new collar.

Sumter County Property Appraiser - Joey Hooten - Bushnell, Florida - 352-569-6800

P.S. If you want to see an aerial view of Joey Hooten's home, it is on Sumterpa.com too. I just looked.

Nice property in Bushnell. Lotta land. I suspect he is a nice fellow.

I don't mind. Anyone can see it anyway. All of our lots and our property are imaged from above and are available for anyone to see. I haven't been in any trouble of any kind other than banned from this forum for a week. In the past I have invited and we have entertained as many as 60 TOTV'rs at a gathering at our home in Hadley and the one we now live in. We would do it again. I am almost eighty years old and have fairly good common sense. We all worry about different things. Privacy is not one of the things I worry about.

I just notice your picture graciegirl may be up to date with a pool but your tax assessment is lower then what you built the house for in 2011. You added a pool and birdcage in 2015 which must of cost a pretty penny but your not paying taxes on it.
I guess i don't understand how this is fair over the board. Just A FYI, also it has nothing to do with your Exemption or SOH exemptions.
Maybe the assessor missed your home! Just a FYI don't shoot the messenger. L.O.L. Hope the assessor doesn't find out
see below for the picture you posted in the page 2 of this thread for anyone interested;

Not concerned. Thank you for checking for us. I don't think the tax appraiser is vindictive or out to get anyone. If it is worth more, than it is.
