While you guys are suffering the extreme Florida summer heat or running from air conditioner to air conditioner, we snowbirds are enjoying taking it easy outdoors with balmy weather and refreshing breezes. I think the non-snowbirds are just jealous because we have the best of both worlds! It's not us who need your suggested attitude adjustment.

I confess. I would PREFER to be a SNOWBIRD, but I am NOT. I am a Florida wingless DO-DO bird.

You go, snowperson. I agree, but problem is........ that picture in the upper left area shows a very whitey whitey.

That IS the way I feel and also, why hurry when you are retired? Does that keep the Grim Reaper away? But, many TV Landers drive like their hair is on fire.

Yesterday at the grocery store I was in the checkout line, and holding two cold drinks in my hand and one other item, so I stand in line for the cashier because I had cash and the self checkouts were card only--and there were a couple people in front of me, and the lady right in front of me had just a few items and she put her items on the conveyor belt, and I took one of the item separators, placed it on the belt after her items and set my drinks down. She then said to me in a very snotty voice "If you're in that big of a hurry, just go ahead of me" and walked around to stand about 5 ft behind me. I looked at her and I said excuse me? and she said "I don't like it when someone crowds me, I got to have at least 5 ft of personal space." I told her I wasn't trying to crowd her I just wanted to set my drinks down cause they were cold, and I stepped back and I said "Knock yourself out."
She looked back and said "Knock YOURself out. I got to have space around me."

The Villages is supposed to be the friendliest Hometown, well I don't think so-- sometime in the last 10 years or so it's gotten the rudest most belligerent types of people I have met in a long time-- not since I lived in New York.
😤

Maybe she was just in a "New York state of mind"?

The original owners and the second owners have sold or passed away. People in the southern sections make assumptions. You know what that makes you?

Also many wear dark clothes which is like having a "Death Wish".

It’s simply beautiful. TV is nice in the winter, but in regards to the environment can get quite boring to be there all year. Especially oppressive in the summer.

This summer has been disgustingly hot, Hot, and HOT !!! Lots of "feels like" temperatures over 100 deg and often with no wind with blasting sun. If I play any sports in the morning, I sweat from my shirt down to my shorts and even my socks get damp. Next summer, if the is no Covid, I am going to play only inside with A/C type sports or inside classes. According to climate scientists we have had record world HEAT so far this summer and they predict even hotter next year. I can't take that anymore. I can't enjoy summer sports in Florida anymore. Summer will likely NEVER exist for me outside anymore here in Florida.
........I am jealous of all you SNOWBIRDS, so enjoy yourselves, I wish I could be there.

Hate to burst your bubble......Very few if ANY snowbirds come to FL for the culture!! .....We are not trying to get away from our culture. That "up north" culture we enjoy is why we have two homes! The ONLY reason I have a home in FL is for warm winters, golf and pickleball.

Their back!!!!!! Snowbirds spending 3-6 months up north have to readjust to a faster pace of life up north. Once they come back they need to decompress to a slower pace of life here. This takes a little time, probably about 1 month. Its time to chill out snowbirds for your own safety, and ours.

While riding my bike today, my wife and I were passed by a speed racer going over the chitty chatty bridge. You know the bright colored dressed bikers who just want to go fast. He passed us, flew by whispering out of my way, and then about 2 miles down the path, we stopped to see him lying on the ground and being helped to his feet by the people whose car he ran into. 911 was called and there was a good dent in the backside of the car, hopefully he was okay.

While crossing the Lily bridge there was a biker in front of us crossing over the highway, a golf car crossed the solid line to pass all of us just before a corner. The biker shouted something and we proceeded on. Once into the Brownwood parking lot, the biker proceeded to chase the golf car down as he was going to the gas station. We did not stay for the conversation. But it wasn't going to be pleasant.

While resting at the Eisenhower Rec. Center, there was a women painting the door so the side door was being used. A woman came hurrying in carrying a bucket and a pilates ball and decided to hit the automatic door opener. The door opened and hit the painter in the head. And the women scurried into the side door.

All of this happened in one morning, and we figured out that the snowbirds had returned. Please be warned to watch out for the faster paced snowbirds. They need to decompress and adjust to the pace down here before more injuries occur. You have been warned, they may also need an attitude adjustment, please give them time to re-adjust.

Bike riders in uniform are a scourge on the roads. One day on Meggison past St Johns, a group of 20 riders took up a car driving lane. They should not be there. Use the MM paths for safety sake

"a car driving lane".....

Yes, the Crowd is Thickening

It is that time of year. Over the past couple of weeks we have noticed an increase in traffic and larger crowds at the squares, church and for our weekly classes. The walk ons at the golf courses have been clipped a bit too. We were bumped because we had a threesome last week. Maybe, the hot weather up North or school itself kicked this one off early? Maybe it’s the surge in new homes? It doesn’t matter, buckle up, reserve your restaurant seats and plan ahead as much as you can.

Sorry, but riders legally be on the road. Imagine them being on a cart path, doing 15mph then could you pass 20 riders……NO.

taking one lane isn’t a problem, the other day, on BV, 20 plus, took both lanes. At first I thought they were passing, which still shouldn’t have taken 2 lanes. 25 plus cars behind them doing 18 mph. That was wrong. It was at best two clubs try to prove something, and neither had the ability to do better than the other. At best they should have been embarrassed, proving their abilities were in their heads, not in there legs

Restaurants are too crowded because too many people go at the same time. We seldom eat before 7:30 and rarely have a long wait.
I know it's tough to stay up past 9pm. lol

Uncharacteristic post, surprised snowbirds and snowflakes are not being accused of causing climate change by creating carbon footprint traveling between homes?
