Question Snowflake questions

Those of you who are snowflakes--can you tell me how you handle utility bills, etc. while you are away from the villages? Do you have the bills forwarded to your other address, do you have them sent online and pay them that way, etc?

Default Hi

Everything is online - receive bills and pay them online; both north & south!

Never miss a bill that way. Having mail catch up with you is problematic.

We pay everything online. It saves time and money.

Default Snowflake bills

With most bills I use automatic deduction from checking account. This avoids headaches.

we do as yorio does - we have a separate checking account for household and have all bills on auto-pay - don't have to fret about making sure i remember to go on-line to make any payments that way - leaves us free to travel and not be concerned about having internet access or that the mail has caught up with us wherever we go!

The simplest thing to do as has been previously stated is to have auto payments taken from your bank account. They notify each time when they are going to make the deductions and the amount. I have been doing it for 3 years and it has worked flawlessly.

Like others have said, we set up all our bills to get automatically debited from our checking account. Still receive paper copies in the mail for filing. I think the only things we have to write checks out for is the lawn care and pest control.

The lovely Diane and I do automatic debit on everything we can. Never seen a mistake on the amount and the payment comes out on the due date. I even do my state and federal quarterlies that way.

A word of caution: DirecTv was miserable to deal with when we dropped them. Their retention people were big-time game-players and relentless...refused to cancel until we had listened to all their retention gambits.
