Advantage Golf Cars AGC, converted my cart from 6 lead based batteries to 15 Lithium Ion power cells with chargers. Here are the results:

weight decreased by almost 200 lbs.
distance per charge increased to over 130 miles!!
time to fully charge approx 5 hours
Power cells guaranteed for 10 years

May I ask what it cost? Thank you

I checked it out about $6,500 for a conversion to LI.

Uberschaf is right on the conversion cost. It was worth it me to me because I have a customized cart with extra leg room that I can drive safely. I inquired at the time about a new cart with the Lithium Ion Power Cells and was told it would be starting at about 13K. To the best of my knowledge there are only a few of these kind of in The Villages so far.

Another option that a poster suggested would be to pick up and older electric cart fairly cheap and then have it converted.

Before you head in that direction, read this;

Note the sector under degradation. Also, if you are only trying to protect the environment, read it twice.

I have a 2009 Club Car electric (48v). With a full charge, and brand new batteries, I can go from Country Club Hills to Brownwood, drive around down there for an hour or so and get back (over the bridge) with no problem. Even 1 1/2 year old batteries I can go there and back with no problem. I'll try it again with 2 year old batteries.

I'm waiting to see as well.

Seems like there was a frequent talker on ToTV who has one or sells them.

Come out, come out.......where ever you are.

Just waiting.

Yep that was me................

I have two, work great they can easily do over 70 miles, not plugged in for years.

Tried selling them here for about $800, way too much resistance.

If there was interest and anyone wanted to do a partnership biz I'm still game.

I came across this same article when in the process of deciding whether to buy batteries for my electric cart or purchase a gas cart. I researched, spoke with many people, tested an AC motor that had a max speed of 27 mph and looked at lithium batteries. Batteries degrade, solar panels on carts offer just a trickle of a charge and traveling distance via battery power is limited, despite claims made by retailers which is misrepresented. Its like the golfer who says I can drive a ball 250 years. Yea maybe the golfer did it once ...once.
