Default Southbound Golf Cart Path at Traffic Light at Colony

I just had to wait for three traffic light cycles to head southbound at the Cart path at Colony Rec Center. Why, because two of those lights a single party wanted to turn left (west) to the Colony Plaza and created the backup because traffic heading North was heavy. Solution .... Please- please- please move up, so that traffic continuing south to the tunnel can pass. It is very frustrating to wait when someone can simply move forward and avoid the situation.

I also suggest that a bypass lane for southbound traffic is created so that the traffic jam doesn't occur.

Thank you

What was hindering the carts travel path cars would have been stopped or cart traffic going north.

.

carts that are at the light crossing Colony Blvd. and turning left towards Publix, etc. don't pull forward far enough to the cart behind can go around heading toward the tunnel under 466a. therefore all carts behind(quite a few this time of year)can't continue south.

Many folks never consider how their actions might effect others. So for the lack of moving about 4 feet forward many carts have to keep waiting at the light.

Sure it's seems inconsequential, but to those of us with someplace to be it seems quite numb of some folks to not consider others.

Sometimes getting older means getting dumber. Sometimes some folks have always been inconsiderate.

I guess a lot of carts were coming north on the MMP so the cart in front could not turn left.

Another example of someone not realizing what is going on around them. If they pull up they can go once the light changes and others can get around them while they wait.

The carts traveling north would not allow the turn. The cart waiting to turn blocked the other carts from going around. If the cart would move forward to the middle of the street other carts could go around and proceed south. However, if two carts are turning the pathway is blocked.

If you have someplace to be, then allow enough time to get there for crying out loud. You are the one with the issue, not the person who is legitimately making a left hand turn when it is safe to do so. Your time is no more valuable than theirs...

Need a 4 lane path thru that area, including widening the tunnel

Or simply get permission for carts to cross 466A at the traffic light near Tire Choice

Very true so many driving carts and autos have no clue about traffic around them , a “good” driver knows always, ask those causing issues and they say OH I’m good driver!!!

Sorry, but I have to disagree. Leaving enough time during high season is one thing, having some other cart block the road is entirely different. The person "legitimately" making the left turn should pull to the center line of the road, just like driving a car, not hang back on the MMP. Sounds like that person was under the mistaken notion that they could not enter an intersection until the oncoming traffic has passed. Go back to driver's ed, please.

In addition if you come through the tunnel by Sarasota there is no stop sign on the Sarasota side. Please don’t stop unless an emergency. You’ll be rear ended

b)Please don’t stop unless an emergency.
c)You’ll be rear ended
a) true
b) good advice
c) that would be the fault of the following cart, not the one that stopped

Going towards Walmart.
