Default Alligators at Everglades rec pond

Yesterday afternoon while on the walking path at the Everglades rec center, 3 alligators were observed along the south side of the pond used for the RC boats. One was about 5 ft long on the bank and two others about 3-4 foot long in the water not far from shore.

Your point. Not unusual for alligators in our ponds.

If you're looking at fresh water in Florida there are probably alligators in it.

When I first moved to Florida, I was told to just assume there is at least one alligator in each pond.

The ones you describe are little guys. Its almost mating season. Wait 'til you hear a 10 foot big boy bellow for some lovin'.

Honestly, they were here first. Leave them alone, they will leave you alone.

Gators, in a body of fresh water in Florida!?!?!? What a concept LOL.

Sorry, I don’t mean to be snarky.

And no, I DEFINITELY won’t be walking my fur babies ANYWHERE near any body of water!

Coming from up North, I always look to see any....from a distance, of course. Amazing creatures!

We were amazed and alarmed when we first moved here and saw them here and there. Even had one on our driveway; he went on his merry old way down the storm drain.

When I see a pond, I imagine no less than 300 alligators 🐊 in it! I can’t understand why houses are built around these ponds/lakes.
