Default Speed Trap

Chula Vista, between Rio Grande and 466, has been very busy with speed ticket distribution, speed limit is 25 mph and is being enforced...Very easy to not pay attention but that could cost you a ticket

Default Those not paying attention are but a small part of the

very serious speeding problem here in TV. The more speed traps the better. It is a great way for the differing municipalities to increase their incomes from those who deserve to be ticketed.

The more tickets the better....as always.

Example: the only place where people drive the school zone limits are the ones everybody knows has a cop on hand....rest my case!!!!!!!!!!

It's about time they enforced the speed in our area! There are signs posted, so there is NO EXCUSE.
I have seen IDIOTS going over 50 and even passing on double yellow or in the cart lane.

Smile Not To Be Tacky, But....

If someone is not paying attention to speed, makes you wonder what else.

We just all need to pay attention and obey the rules so everyone can be safe, happy, and keep more of our money to spend on fun stuff instead of tickets.

We need to obey the traffic rules in the villages. We have so many different users of our roads, cars, golf carts, bikes, roller bladers, and walkers.

Let's all be safe out there.

Default Call me crazy, but

I passed a police car on the autobahn today at 125 mph! No speed limit on the autobahn, but my instincts always have me letting off the gas and starting for the brake, when I see a cop....

I know most of you think it's nuts to drive that fast, but most people are driving 100 or more, so the speed differential is minimal. They also stay out of the left lane unless they're passing another car. The irony is that they have very few accidents on the autobahn, but lots more accidents where the speed limit is lower. In my own experience, when driving the autobahn, I drive...no talking on the phone, no fiddling with the radio, nothing. When I have to slow to 70, that's when I use the phone, put in a CD, talk to the wife, etc.... You rarely see anyone doing anything except driving on the autobahn.

Finally, where there is a speed limit, they are very strict...NO TOLERANCE! In cities, the speed limit is normally about 35 and they give tickets for 36.

Any of you, who have lived or traveled in Germany, know what I'm talking about....

Default Drivers in TV

I think it should be mandatory for every resident, part time or full time, to take a course in defensive driving here in TV. So many times I have witnessed accidents happen due to drivers not knowing the rules here. The round a bouts especially are treacherous to new people and even some full time residents think they can just speed around them or cut the lane off in front of them. Unfortunately we drive in an area that is a place waiting for an accident to occur. A little education would go a long way, along with cooperation of course.

There seems to be a misconception that everyone driving in TV is a resident.

I'm with you paulandjean. I know Gatb means well but too many people who mean well want to decide how everyone else should behave and what they should do. That's one of the main problems going on in our government and in our country right now. I am a free-born American still; and I'd like to decide for myself what I should or should not have to do without somebody telling me what's mandatory to live in TV beyond the rules and regulations of the State of Florida. I mean this in the nicest possible way.

Let's face it, these are public roads. If you've got a driver's license and a car you're good to go.

The best each of us can do is drive defensively and hope that the driver's new to TV will grasp an understanding of the traffic circles, speed limits, etc., and make it a safer place for all of us.
